To me, this was the only documentary that was not boring, and made actual sence too. Micheal Moore was amazing at telling the story of columbine and even adding a little bit of humor into it where needed. I like the way he tried to find out why America had more gun-related killings than most other countries (IMO it's because guns are easily purchased there). But anyway, what are your opinions on this documentary?

It was pretty good. I liked when he talked to Charlton Hesten, that was funny.

This is the kind of documentary that a lot of people should see. It was interesting and it taught me a lot about gun control; however, I don't like the fact that he makes Canada sound like a happier and safer country than the U.S.

I thought the Canada part was bad too. You had some lady who was saying she did not lock her doors and when he asks if she's ever been robbed she says yeah!? It just made her sound dumb! That was the only bad part of the movie, though.

Yeah, I'd like to see her try that around where I live. We may not get many gun-based murders, but we have a few psychos here who have other means; in the news about a month or two ago, there was a guy who raped a girl, then tried to drown her and beat her with a rock. She survived, but I think she's mentally scarred for life on that one. Also, there was a man who got out of prison, but was being persued by "buddies from his past" and was beaten to death with a hatchet.

Um, Canada is about 1000% safer than the U.S.A. Anyways I love Michael Moore, truly he is the greatest modern American Patriot.

Have you been to ethier of those countries? It's not nessesarily true, I've been to both, and Canada isn't all that different regarding the CHANCES of getting killed.

But didn't Moore (try to) demonstrate in Bowling for Columbine that guns or ammunition were easier to buy in Canada?
Honest question, I haven't seen it in a while, and I forgot just about all of it.

I would also recommend this documentary to many people, but one should always be careful of course, because it's highly politically motivated. Still, you have to admire Moore's courage to tackle these topics.
I also thought the part with Heston was one of the most confronting parts of the movie. It's quite telling about the hypocrisy and cowardice of some people.
I'm personally not against possession of fire-arms if you live in a vast, unpopulated area and the nearest police station is like 100 miles away. But I'm totally against owning guns in densely populated urban areas. I'd rather have my whole house stolen empty than my (future ;)) kids killing each other by accident.
Cheers,

Well, I think it was ammunition that he bought from wal mart. Not sure about any guns.

Yes I have been to both countries, and it is not a matter chances due to the fact that the per capita population of the U.S. compared to that of Canada is a tremendous difference. I dont know why you would even attempt to compare the two in the field of violent deaths. The United States was founded on such.

I'm not talking about the NUMBER of deaths, I'm talking about the chances of actually getting killed there.

Maybe, but I seem to remember him or the Walmart chick holding a shotgun or rifle or something, but maybe I'm just imagining things, I donno...
I'd still go for that Walmart chick though...if she ain't a sweetheart then I just don't know who is...

Where I'm from? Extremely slim chance. Maybe if it were from a car accident and even then..lol
Maybe in Toronto or other spots in Ontario it's bad, but elsewhere it's a pretty slim chance of getting killed or hurt at all unless you are stupid and go into alleyways in a city late at night.

It's weird cause I live in Minneapolis which actually has fairly high crime rating and lots of shotings (I was shot in the leg when I was 12 by mistake) But Minneapolis is pretty close to Canada, and hearing the differences in numbers is interesting. I am currently looking for a new state to live in or possibly a new country. I might try living in Canada, though I do fear loosing my citizenship, but the way things are going...that may not matter.

It was a good movie, I think as stated the Heston part was the best.
RedSoul pointed me out to a few things tho that say this movie was false. And they made senese.
Then someone else pointed me to a place that said yes it was fake, but he wanted to see if people would research or just believe. So I don't know what to believe, but I did enjoy the movie.
