I'd appreciate if anyone could help me with this.
Any GIF files that are supposed to be animated just freeze on their first frame and never move. How do i remedy this?

Ok, fine, a serious answer. tongue
I don't know.

What browser are you using?
Did you try other browsers?
Did you Windows Update for the latest images exploit?

This happened to me before, so here's the remedy that will heal your misery:
-Go to Tools.
-Go to Internet Options.
-Go to Advanced.
-Scroll down until you see Multimedia.
-Check "Play animations in web pages".

That should do it. To see if it worked, look at my sig. There should be the words "Our World is about to change", a portal opening with blue light and an explosion of snow and ice followed by the words "Blood Runs Cold".

I'm sure they'll work if you do what I told you. For security reasons, your browser may have turned animations off. You probably installed a new program or experienced an error.

Check any pop up blockers and firewalls, many of them have features to turn animations off or on, that usually is the problem.

The firewall blocked GIF images?
What the fuck?

Seriously, what the fuck?
It would have to have a block set specificly at the GIF file's starting discription bytes or something.
That's, really fucked up.

Was it the Windows XP firewall?

Aggie, a reasonable guess would be that he is using ZoneAlarm Pro. It kills all animations as an option for protection.
