Anytime you do squats, make sure you explode on your way up, and ease down on the negative. This trains your body to be explosive while ballancing the power/limberness you desire. Also, do power cleans.
Another old school technique you can do is find a highschool or college bleacher stand in a stadium or along a track. Then, from the bottom, do standing junmps up the seating till you reach the top. "standing jumps". Feet shoulder width about, explode with head and arms leading, ect.
Any type of running resistance will help. IE, the whole "freind grabs a bungie and holds you back while you run forward." Also, power sleds really, REALLY help with explosive leg strength. If you have acess to those, abuse them.
Finally, simply work on your flexability. The more limberness you contain, the more control you have over your body. Also, when you jump, lead with your head, them arms, then eplode with the leg power.
Just remebmer that nothing beats just being in good shape. Good luck.

an easy way that increases youre jumping slightly but very quickly is to do some layups, uncontested layups.
Also, as dumb as it sounds, you get more height off just one foot.
arginine supplements are supposed to promote fast-twitch muscle fibers which would assist in your vertical. Take a lot throughout the day.
Black people typically have more fast-twitch fibers than other races and they have awesome verticals too.
Lose some weight, jog often. calf-press squats lunges extensions Eat chicken(broiled), egg whites, and dry potatos only. Drink water only, approx. a gallon a day.
no ephedra or ripped fuel shit, it's all vasoconstrictive and counterproductive.
