First off, be carefull on what you choose! If a program finds trojans and spyware, it might delete something that may be vital in order for your computer to work. I used Spybot and deleted some spyware, but now it's running slower!
So be carefull in that you choose!
BTW, if anyone knows, will reformating my hard drive fix the problem it's having?

My computers been running slow, I ran my Norton's Anti-Virus and it came up that files from ad-aware where infected, so i just uninstalled it. As for Spybot I used to have it on my old PC cause I had heard good things about it, but i was having a problem with internet service so I had someone from my ISP provider comeout to check it. He was pointing out some programs that I should have on my PC, and he said Spybot can actually be more dangerous that it is good. I uninstalled it and it actually fixed a problem i was having that I never even though was being caused by the program. My internet explorer had my home page changed and I was completly locked out from going into the internet options to change it.
As for both program aren't they only Spyware & Malaware programs? I don't think they search for trojans.

spyware and malaware r trojans and the reason that Norton picked up problems in Adaware is probably because u didnt set it to overlook Adawares restore and Quarenteen folders, which u should delete (at least i do a lot)...

Yeah but I've never had a problem with Norton's picking up on Ad-aware before unil yesterday when my PC running slow and it actually picked up on it for a change. I ran Norton's twice before without it picking up on Ad Aware, so I was thinking that maybe either some spyware or trojan went after adaware to keep it from removing itself from my PC.
