Have you played Alpha Centauri? If yes, could you tell me in comparison if the game is anything reminiscent of that or is it less/more complex?


How difficult is it? The novice level of AC was manageable, the third was about pissing blood. The last three were inspirations for suicide.

You've certainly enlightened me some more about the series, I'd never heard of Alpha Centauri until you mentioned it just now. It sounds pretty awesome, especially seeing as the same people made it.

In terms of difficulty, it ranges from level 1 to level 9 I think; my first game was on level 2 and I steamrolled with that even though I was still learning the game. My current match is on level 4, and I hard to work fairly hard to get on top. Basically I'm struggling to see how any approach other than annihilating everyone via military conquest is viable, but on my next playthrough I might see if I can win via a tech or culture victory using the same difficulty level.
