Alright,my OXM magazine came in the mail today. The first game I played on the demo disc was Def Jam Vendetta:Fight For NY.I must say THIS IS THE BEST GAME SO FAR THIS YEAR I'VE PLAYED.I was a BIG fan of the 1st Vendetta. The 1st one was a near classic. It was just lacking a few must need features for a wrestling game. Now we have Vendetta 2 which adds:

Weapons
Interactive Enviorments(NO MORE RINGS)
Create A Fighter(SOMETHING I WISH THE 1ST VENDETTA HAD AND NOW IT'S HERE!)
A longer Story Mode(90 Fights)

I tried Story Mode out first,EA took a small part of the story mode to give you a taste of it.It starts out with rapper Busta Rhymes on the ground bruised and tired. You grab him by his neck and you ask him where your girlfriend is at.He tells you in a warehouse in Brooklyn. You go there and you tell Method Man to stay in the limo and hit the horn if he sees any danger. You go inside the building and Sticky Fingaz(He's in the group Onyx) is pooring Gasoline with your girlfriend tied up with duck tape on her mouth. He says something but I forgot what he said. Then he throws the lighter to the ground and here is where your fight begins.

The 1st thing I noticed about the fighting is that the enviorments play a much bigger role than DJV1.Now you can throw people in light poles,Stage Lights,Speakers and many other things. But this stage didnt have the speakers and stage lights just poles with fire burning around them. You can also toss your opponet in the fire and his energy will drain quickly. The fighting is alot diffrent than DJV1.V1 was based on wrestling here it's based on diffrent fighting styles.Sticky Fingaz uses a Street Fighting style which deals with "Cheap" tricks and powerful moves. This fight is short due to the fire so I'll just skip ahead and tell you about a REAL fight:

Battle Mode is where up to 4 Players can play. You can choose from 4 people(remember this is the demo version). The people are:Sticky Fingaz,Busta Rhymes,Method Man,Ludacris and Redman. My favorite out of the 6 is Redman. He uses a Martial Arts style. He's fast and deadly his Blazin' move is the same as DJV1.But the new Blazin' Visual effect adds more to it now.It goes like in a camera view way and pauses(Matrix Style but better). You can now grab weapons from the crowd speaking of the crowd they can push back into the fight if you punk out and trying running.LOL,A good feature if you ask me.You can also do Double Team moves with the crowd.Like if you whip your opponet into a person in the crowd the person will throw your opponet up in the air and you'll catch him and throw him to the ground.

EA has done it again.Based on the demo I'll give it a 10/10.I've played it 7 times today.IT NEVER GETS BORING.You can be a rap fan, wrestling fan, martial arts fan or whatever you'll enjoy it.

Other Info:
Release Date:September 20th,2004
ESRB Rating:M For Mature(Sexual Content,Strong Language,Blood and Violence)
Platforms:GC,PS2,Xbox

Final Thoughts:Another Classic by the people at EA.

About Me

Why care about people if they're not bloody and on your carpet right now?

Sounds good. I planned on renting it when it came out, but now I'm leaning towards purchase.

That story mode sounds excellent.

I'll rent it for sure, but I probably won't buy it because Smackdown vs Raw will be out soon and it's online.

The only thing I hate about DJV2 is Lil Kim,Carmen Electra and Fat Joe are in there.3 people who I don't care for at all.I'll get to beat them up though especially Fat Joe.

I don't think so.There weren't any big fighters in the demo so I cant say.

Here is my version of Lean Back

"You see I can't dance because im fat thats why I invented Lean Back, now Lean Back, now Lean Back,Lean Back".

"The fat brother with the hamburger was the logo kid"

LOL
