"Tis true my form is something odd, But blaming me is blaming God. Could I create myself anew, I would not fail in pleasing you. If I could reach from pole to pole, Or grasp the ocean with a span, I would be measured by the soul, The mind's the standard of the man."

The saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" is false assertion, since operant conditioning can both effect children and animals. Eventhough the saying is merely said in jest primarly, it's acceptable when people use it to describe themselves or others who keep up the same bad habits later in life.

It's true that a parent who left their child's life, learn and recognize over the years that they made a bad decision and try to reconcile. Of course, they're are those who still ingnore their responsibilities in raising their child. But that's just one example.

In any event, people either grow wiser from learning from their mistakes and experiences or relatively stay the same person as they are as they grow older. Although there is a psycological aspect to this question, I'll spare everyone an in depth follow up including divergent terms and references that would require you to study B. F. Skinner. But looking at youselves and where you are right now in your lives, do you think that you'll be wiser 20-30 yrs from now?

Yeah, I think I'll be a lot wiser in 20 years than I am now. I feel as though in the last few years, I have grown more mature and intelligent (even though it doesn't always show). Maybe by then, I'll be at my peak.

I'll never be wise.
I think i'll always be naieve(sp?), but by then i'll probably veiw the world differently and be a bit more reserved, so it won't show as much.
