I think there will be a democratic government and then there will be a worldwide revolution towards very good things. What do you think? Thanks.

If so, it will be only a matter of time before the heads will be assassinated. Then, we'll have to do it all over again...

LOL Yeah right. There is no real sovereignity if the government doesn't have vetoe power over American forces, and never mind Iraq will have the biggest U.S. Embassy in the world and 14 permanent U.S. military basis.

Ahh, neo-colonialism. Who would ever have thought..

Democracy has failed to heal the Muslim world, just as communism failed, socialism fails. Imperialism, like before, definitely will fail. The only thing that can bring Islamic countries out of the position they are in now, is to abandon all these monarchs, all these military dictators, and in the case of countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Albania, Turkey corrupt 'democracies' as well. Only the true Islamic system can work, not a 'Islamic republic'(Iran's terrible experiment), but the proper Islamic government as outlined in the Qur'an and in the Sunnah, the Khalifah.

That's not what I meant. Of course Islamic governments are democratic, because the Islamic form of government, which is called the Khilafah(Caliphate in English), is democratic. The Caliph is democratically elected by the general public and is accountable as a ruler, and can be removed by the judicial system. Also the people have the right to assemble and address their grievances against the government(freedom of speech). And there is an elected body called the Majlis as-Shura which expresses the public opinion to the Caliph, although they don't have any executive or legislative powers like in western style governments.

Also, non-Muslims have the right to freedom of worship(even the extremist Taliban allowed the few non Muslim Afghans, who are mostly Hindu, the right to practice their religion). The real Islamic form of government gaurantees human rights, unfortunately the Taliban have given people a bad misconception. They do not follow orthodox Islam they follow an extremist movement founded in India thats called Deobandism. It's somewhat similar to Wahabism from Saudi Arabia. For example they did not allow women to be educated or have equal access to health care which is totally against Islam.

Under Islamic law women have the right to own property or a business, hold a job, get education, equal access to healthcare, keep their own money, equal share to inheritance, equal protection under the law, the right to choose who they marry and the right to divorce, the right to keep their last name in marriage, the right to demand a dowry from their husband(infact its necessary for marriage), the right to keep it even in divorce, the right to pre numptial agreements, and the right to political participation.

Minority(i.e. non-Muslim}'s rights in an Islamic state: They have the right to practice their religion, the right to own property and businesses, the right to serve in the military and in public office(except for certain positions like Caliph), the right to vote in any elections(except for that of Caliph), the right to equal protection under the law, the right to freedom of express as long as it doesnt violate public morality, and the right to conduct family laws and criminal laws according to their own laws(so Jews would have their own courts and a Jew would be prosecuted under Rabbincial laws for crimes, UNLESS its a crime against the state in which he is subject to Islamic law).

A Caliph has all the authority to enact laws, but he cannot enact any canons that go against Islamic law, so he is not a dictator(i.e. making the law according to his own whim, he can only enact Islamic law), the Amir al-Jihad(leader of Jihad) is responsible for the military and security forces, and the Wazirs are the governors of the provinces, and the Aamils of the municipalities, none in the Islamic state has any executive powers except for the Caliph himself, the Amir al-Jihad, or the Wazirs and Aamils. Everyone else is either an executive assistant(deputised by the khalif to handle his affairs in a certain field, but their power is limited to the permission of the Caliph and they can be re-called, they are not independent of his authority), or a delegated assistant(appointed by the caliph to make sure canons hes enacted are carried out, no discresion of action).

Different sections of the government are ran by different Departments(i.e. Department of Commerce, Department of labour etc.), and there is also the State Council(Shura), which serves as an advisory board to the Caliph. That is a short explanation of the Islamic form of government. Also, it is not federal. There is ONE government, and provinces and municipalities are only for the purpose of administration, they have no autonomy.

Also i forgot to mention economics. The economic system is essentially free market except BASIC neccessities, i.e. water, electricty are under the control of the government, and although the medicine is not socialized, the government is obligated to make sure everyone has healthcare, food, shelter, and education.

Besides that, its initially free market, you dont need permission to start a business, and infact the government gives out grants for businesses. The currency is gold based(rather then based on a system of borrowing and dept like many currencies today), and the banking system is centralized, and runs on an interest free system(interest is illegal), and of course like in America unfair business practices or products that harm people are not allowed. Taxes generally aren't to harsh, and in most cases the government doesnt enact an income tax unless there is a specific and current need for one, and its only one income tax since there is one government.
