Some people have it from their pre-orders.
Yes, Doom 3 looks awesome, but, your computer will probably not supply what it needs to run it at even high quality. Its a shame really.

Yes it looks awesome indeed!!! I really would love to give it a try.

And uh.. No, if you read the system's requirements for Doom3 there's actually a wide set of options for the game's quality: low, med, high and ultra as far as I can remember... So you can still play it (petium 4 is recommended though), the only thing will be visual/sound loss

Just a quick reply to this. Yes Doom 3 is gonna be awesome and i can't wait to get my hands on it, but don't shy away if u have an older PC as ID Software have optimized this game so that it will run well on an average PC. Unlike past games that only 'just' run on the bare-minimum, apparently Doom 3 will run fine. Even new inclusions to their game engine, such as the advanced lighting and bump-mapping, won't get sacrificed on the 'low' setting.

Here's the min specs and supported video cards

DX 9.0 compatible 3D card w/ 64MB RAM*
MS Windows 2000/XP
Pentium 4 1.5 GHz or Athlon XP 1500+
384 MB RAM
8x CD-ROM
2.2 GB of HD space
Broadband (for multiplayer)

*Supported 3D Graphics chipsets:
ATI: Radeon 8500, 9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800
NVIDIA: GeForce 3, GeForce 4MX, GeForce 4 Titanium, GeForce FX, GeForce 6

All of this information is from this site if you are interested in the full read. Not sure how to make it a link so here it is

No computer from "Right Now" can run it on "Ultra", not "High"(which is possible "Right Now", and not very hard to do). People think that the game is only made for "high-end" computers, when it's really made to work on even fairly low rigs. My rig is P4 2.53Ghz, 512 RAM, GFMX440, and more than enough HD space, and it looks great...so since there are much better rigs than that, don't spend all of your money in one place now, ya hear?
