I'm planning on buying the DS, if only for its capabilities.
Wireless will be free, y'know.
Meaning if you crack its network, you could potentially have free internet access (depending of course, if it moves over the internet).
If not, then it's still a great hacking tool, if you can crack the security.
Think of it, you can turn it into a portable 802.11b network scanner, or, if you can load an OS on it (say, Linux), then think of its possiblities!

I don't know if this'll all happen in rapid succession, but if it does happen, I want to be there.

If I got either of them it would be the PSP. There really isn't anything that looks promising for the DS, at least for now. But I really doubt I'd get either of them to begin with. I was looking forward to the PSP but after hearing the supposed $300+ price tag no fucking way. Thats way to much for a handheld. $200 tops. Especically when the price on the PS2 will be comming down to probably $100 by the time they release the PS3, and the PSP doesn't really look like it will be out until close to that time.

i will hopefully be able to get the psp when it comes out, if i can fucking get a job soon! mainly the reason why i want it is for the upcoming game, syphon filter: logan's shadow.

I'm not really into portable games anymore. I like to have a console or a computer in front of me while I play a game. Neither.

I'm interested in the PSP for the Metal Gear Acid game (which seems like some hybrid stealth action/card game) and a new Transformers game was annouced.

The DS will have loads of 1st party titles from Nintendo, and it seems like a unique platform that will give us loads of different games.

PSP... think about this, if you're going to take your system around (as is the purpose of a portable gaming system) what's going to look cooler? from the specs of the DS, i'd be kind of embarrassed to take that thing outside my home... the PSP, however, looks like an electronic entertainment device as opposed to a kiddie game-system with a cute palm-pilot type thing attached to the bottom
