I am thinking of downloading the open beta.It looks great,i have a mic, althought it does bother my ear when i wear it.Would i NEED to wear my mic? Would i be able to have fun, being a person who's never played eve online, and hasn't had many chances to play more tactical shooters(most i have would be BF Bad Company2,And killzone 2). Any tips? Also I'm up for being added> Just ask psn.

I've been playing the closed beta off and on since last summer, I've heard people say it's similar to MAG, but with a much steeper learning curve (I haven't played MAG though, so I'm not sure...) It's a fun game though.

I wouldn't say a mic is necessary unless you were in a pre-organized group before you joined a match (the good players are usually in a group of people they know, and can coordinate well, but when you jump into a random match alone you're put into a group automatically, and results may vary).
