REVENGE OF THE SITH is about 9 months away and then it's the end of STAR WARS films as we know it. Or is it? Remember Lucas's original plan to film the prequel trilogy and then focus on the sequel trilogy - Episodes 7, 8 and 9? That plan was ditched and eventually Lucas decided to simply film Episodes 1-3. But now reports are starting to surface (as we grow nearer to the end of this trilogy) that Lucas may be prepping his team for yet another trilogy. TheForce.net reports that folks at Industrial Light and Magic were required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) recently to keep their lips sealed on all things regarding Episodes 7, 8 and 9. Right now this is obviously just rumor as TheForce.net readily admits, but an interesting rumor nonetheless. It does seem odd that a Lucas inforced NDA would be broken so quickly after it was drafted but perhaps ILM staff is just so excited they had to leak word out somehow. One theory has it that Lucas was burnt out making Episodes 1-3 and couldn't see himself going forward with a new trilogy - his new plan however would see him handing off the reigns to a new creative team (like how Genndy Tartakovsky created the "Clone Wars" shorts for Cartoon Network). Take all this information and add it to what else we know and it makes for a compelling rumor. Only time will tell...

Oh yeah! I heard that Lucas had EP 7,8, and 9 in mind. But he said that he wasn't going to do them. This new info kinda makes me wonder cause if they indeed get done, he probably won't direct them, which would have me dancing on the ceiling like Lionel Richie!
Cause he's not a good director and his dialogue in Episode 2 was HORRIBLE!!!!

MaxDam Wrote: I think Lucas is a good director. The problem in Ep2 is that there were no chemistry at all between anakin and padme. |
There wasn't any relationship btw Anakin and Obi Wan neither and that was supposed to be an important aspect as well.

I would love to see 3 more episodes!!! That's my 2nd fav. sequel after Nightmare on Elm Street...
The majority says that Clone Wars was very, very bad but that's not true... The love scenes should had been cut to less and a bit more exiteing story and so on...
But watch the film more times to realise that is good.

I think the prequel trilogy wasn't bad, it didn't have the same effect as the orignal simply because the orignal trilogy was just the right things at the right time. I do think the connection between the characters was somewhat lacking in Episode 2, but hopefully everything will be squared away for E3. As far as 7,8, and 9 go.. hey what the hell why not.

It's funny that Empire and Jedi are widely considered to be the best in the series (in my experience anyway), and yet they're the ones that Lucas had the least to do with. He didn't direct them, and he had other people co-write the scripts. And Phantom Menace, which is regarded as the worst so far, Lucas wrote and directed all himself. They should relegate him to being a lighting guy or something and let other people make the films.
Speaking of which, who do you think could step up to the plate and whip up a decent Star Wars? I reckon Steven Spielberg, Roland Emmerich, James Cameron, Paul Verhoeven and Ridley Scott could all outdo Lucas at this stage.

I heard he wasn't going to make them, something about not being able to finish in his lifetime. I dunno, my cousin was going on about it.

I knew they would be made. Lucas knows he needs to cash in on the crop before he's TOOOOO Old to enjoy the money and why give someone else the fruits of his idea?
