8 more days until the European Championship begins. Just wanted to know which team do you guys want to win. For me its Portugal and Italy all the way!

Yup italy have a good chance...one of my favourite players, Andrea Pirlo, is in it.

I just read that they played well against Iceland. Yeah I know the score was 6-1, but the performance was comprehensive as well. France beware. England have the players, even the manager, I just hope they also have the temprement to win it all. I can see it now, England will beat France, then lose to Croatia or Switzerland!

But they'll be up for retribution for Japan/Korea 02. Also they're the defending champs. That's before u look at their roster/teamsheet. I'd have to say they're the favs goin in. But as I said before, England is probably in their best position to win a major tournament (Le Tournoi in '97 doesn't count!) I remember around 2000, the 'experts' touted Euro 04, and WC 06 as England's best chances to win - due to the age, experience and skill of their squad. As an England fan, I'm quietly confident this year...

Portugal just beat Lithuania 4-1. They played with great ball possession and i hope their preformance will be the same next Saturday. The goals came from Cuto, Nuno Gomes, Pauleta and Postiga.Bom ensaio geral!

Not to be rude...but i dont think England will beat France. France is just a stronger side with more "developed" midfleid players. The only chance England have against them is if they move Beckham up more, supporting the strikers, because a guy with that kind of talent shouldnt be kept at the back defending. However, if Zidane decides to take a "day off" during that match then MAYBE England can be lucky enough to secure a win.

Beckham, Gerrard, Scholes, Lampard - all of them could walk into any club side in the world. Their starting strikers are great, Owen and Rooney. The only weaknesses I see are the GK position and the defense, (I'm a Man United fan and I can't stand Gary Neville!) with Ferdinand ruled out, I just hope Campbell and Terry can hold up against Henry, Trezeguet, Wiltord etc. I'm not saying France aren't good - I already said they should be favs goin into the tourney - I'm just saying England have a squad that can match them. And when England score their third against France in injury time, I'm goin to celebrate tons, and then hop on the TTC down to the U of T dorms and laugh my ass off until u beg me to stop! Or just mention it here, either way... |
LOl very funny

Sorry, that's not an option! But if France do win I'll have to slink away into the shadows, possibly emerging to promote England's chances for the 2006 World Cup, there England will under-achieve once again and I will be forced to go into hiding once more.

Either way, if France or England wins, no team will be able to handle Portugal- with the likes of Figo and Rui Costa.

Club "soccer" is great, but if you're born in the US I can see why you're not as big a fan. But to answer the question, you'll get the games on a combination of ESPN and FoxSportsWorld. France vs England is next Sunday, well worth watching. The opening game is a day before, a week from now - I think it's Portugal vs Greece.
