yeah unfortunately in later levels it gets oainstakingly difficult, it's beautiful but harder than a mother...

I love f-zero. My little bro has the one for gamecube, i forgot whats it called because i dont play it often, but i will get back into playing it because i always play the one for super nintendo. The one for GC is really entertaining, it gets you into it.

That's why you need to learn snaking. It's a trick that lets your car gain massive spead to beat the opppoents in higher difficulties. How easy it is depends on the track (can't be done at all on Cosmo Terminal).

The game kicks all ass. The controls are damn good when you get used to them, and the soundtrack is one of the best I've heard in a long time. Only thing I do with it right now is play Practice mode with 20 laps on Expert. Not much and takes a while, but it's still fun.

how do you do the snaking method the_purple_bunny?

It's like this:

1. When asked to set your car between Accelration and Max Speed, set it to full Acceleration (move the slider all the way to the left).

2. When racing, push left on the stick and the L button at the same time, followed by right on the stick and the R button at the same time. Use a wide course (Mute City 1 for example), so you have enough room to learn the timing (it's almost back and forth quickly).

As you do it, you'll see that your speed continuously increases each time you do the drift slide (Left + L and Right + R). You'll be able to take your car around 1500 KM/h easily. On wide parts of courses, you can hold it like this for several seconds as you keep snaking and gain good distance.

About the only other requirement is that the course is wide enough to do this effectively. Courses like Cosmo Terminal are impossible to do this on, because there's no guard rails and the track isn't wide enough to support wider slides as you go faster.

Thanks for the tip TPB. I love this game but it can be frustrating most of the times. But you know? It's worth it, it's a game full of challenge in times where it's hard to find a challenging game. That's one of the reasons I find this game to be impressive and amazing. And the soundtrack is simply wonderful. I love the techno tunes. The sense of speed. The HUGE and detailed tracks. Some of them are so crazy. I just go to practice mode and wander around looking at the wonderful details that can't be seen when I'm racing because it goes soo fast. The replay option is extremely fun.

F-Zero is just another great game from nintendo. it's a must-have for ppl who want a TRUE challenge.

I wish they had put the X-Cup into F-Zero GX (random track generator) that they had in F-Zero X.

The one thing that really pissed me off (and that's even an understatement), is that Pico has the absolute shittiest voice ever. This is someone who was portrayed as a total badass in the past games, the one who, in the storyline, caused The Accident that was so bad, and even weilds an assault rifle if you beat the game on hard diffculty, and when the reporter at the ends asks him a question, you hear a voice that makes you want to bust your TV and cry out to the heavens asking "WHY DAMMIT, WHY??" Just HORRIBLE. Pico shouldn't even answer the question, he should just kill and eat the reporter.

Lol I thought exactly the same thing but with this guy "Black Shadow" in the prologue of the story mode. When he appears laughing on tv... lol

i beat the game but i couldnt beat the story mode =\

me too, but the story mode stars getting tough after the 2nd chapter i want to beat the whole story mode so i can see some more videos, but its taking a while, i guess i got to keep trying.

I love the 4rth mission, your main objective is to retire all of the vehicles... I love it!!! And I also like the track...

The 3rd mission took me ALOT of practice, it's extremely hard, you must know exactly what to do in all of the corners
