I found this to be exciting news.

Tim Schafer of Double Fine Productions, creator of some of the best adventures games ever (like Grim Fandango), has been struggling to get publishers to take a gamble on a new adventure game.

He said "screw it" and decided to ask fans to help him.

Double Fine Adventure Game

And in less than 9 hours, he got the project funded, but they're taking donations for another 32 days. If you love PC adventures games, I encourage you to donate ($15 gets you the entire game anyway), and hopefully this starts an exciting era of fan-funded dream projects for developers.

I miss point and click games.

One day, I would love to create them as well. Warcraft's cancelled Warcraft Adventures really made me miss them...

Don't know why this genre died out. They're incredibly fun to play.

Seems like a fun guy. Monkey Island (LucasArts) was superb and we need more games like that these days. It's an excellent idea.
