posted06/22/2004 07:42 PM (UTC)byDoes anyone know good brands of guitar to go? I'm thinking about buying a Schecter C-1 Elite (as soon as I get $600... which is gonna be a LONG time) because all I have right now is an Ibanez GSA60 and a Squier Strat. The Ibanez is pretty good for rock along with my foot pedal, but I need something that can use distortion good on it's own.

Get a Jackson, it's what the lead guitarist in my band has and it sounds excellent.

fender strats are better than a squirer and telecaters which are fender are nice to. if u want a soild guitar get a gibson or jackson. but i like rickenbackers just because of the old rockers that used them. rickenbackers got nice 12 string acustics and are nice electrics. if u dont no what a rickenbacker is look at my sig. that guitar is a rickenbacker.

Thanks redman for the sig!

I actually enjoy my Fisher Price guitar with the picture of Elmo on it. i jam to Happy birthday and Mary had a Little Lamb on it ALL the time. And they're only run for about 6.75!!
Peavey Wolfgang is very sweet for rock... the one i got plays a lot better than my friends Les Paul... but u cant go wrong with brands like ESP, Jackson, Ibanez, etc... personally to me about every brand has at least one good playing guitar...
Yeah, I like ESP's and Jackson's and such for rock, but my favorite brand is Ibanez, I'm thinking about getting an RGT42FM
because that is their specific rock guitar, I've also done some research on it and it's sweet... I'm also considering a Schecter C-1 FR
, I would like to have a diverse collection of guitars (even though I only currently own two) so I'm not sure if I want to get another Ibanez, but I probably will still, after that I'm probably not going to buy anymore until I get a couple different brands. I also need to get some colorful guitars, all I have are black ones, freakAY!

Three words for you: Gibson Les Paul! Specifically, I would want one with a Floyd Rose on it, so I'd have to go with the Epiphone Goth Les Paul. Epiphone is owned by Gibson, and if you think Epiphone Les Pauls lack the quality of Gibson Les Pauls, think again! Les Paul, himself, has played Epiphone Les Pauls!

yea les pauls are nice but i really like vlack fender starts just because there cool reliable and clapton uses them
I personaly hate Fender just because they are known as a beginner guitar and everyone who has no idea about guitar has a Fender, I know it's just the people that make Fender seem like crap but I haven't liked them since I got my Squier, I've played a couple of heavy metal solos on my friend's Fender Stratocaster and it gets kinda scratchy.

fenders arent beginer guitars. everone gets them cause there decent. fenders are nice. squirers are also the cheper shit version of a fender. so if u like squirer then u bascially like fender. and if you are looking for an advance guitar then get a gibson or a rickenbacker if u feel like coughphing up the money for it

ESP and Ibanez-RG are good metal guitars, but Fender Strat and Gibson Les Paul are best all around guitars.

Les Paul made his prototype guitar at the Epiphone factory, but that was before Epiphone was owned by Gibson. Gibson, at first, was actually hesitant to produce guitars based on Les Paul's prototype, which they basically considered a joke. But Fender Strats and Teles were pulling ahead in the market, so Gibson gave Les's idea a shot. I'm not sure when Gibson acquired Epiphone, and I don't know what the serious differences are between them regarding quality, but Epiphones are usually half the price. I have a feeling that with Gibson, you're mostly paying for the name.
Anyway, I have an ESP LTD F200. Here's a link to a pic, but mine is black: http://www.guitar.com.au/guitars/electric/esp/f200.htm
It's a great guitar, it sounds and plays good, and is probably the most badass looking guitar I've laid eyes on. However, I think the 200 model was dicontinued; now they have the F50, F100, F250, and F400. The F250 appears to be the same as the 200 according to the specs on ESP's website; it's the only one with a trem system (I almost never use the trem bar, but I like knowing it's there if I need it).

Warlocks, Ironbirds, the Washburn Dimebolt, the Ibanez RG series and the JEM, Flying Vs, Explorers, SGs...the list of bad-ass Metal guitars goes on and on, and that's what I'm looking for. However, for some reason, I seem to think the best guitar for Metal is the Les Paul.

the difference is that gibson uses more exotic woods wen epiphone uses cheaper woods.. so the price is cheaper and more affordable
