First MK game ever played?

Mortal Kombat (aks MK1)


What started your interests in Mortal Kombat?

The first game had an original look in regards to video games, the other fighting games (i.e. SF2) at the time seem too cartoonie. The violence was corny, but the way the mothers of the kids freaked out was funny. (At the time I working at a Mr. Ghatti's to help survive college. I lucked out and almost always got assigned to gameroom.)

Why you enjoy the series?

The story and the ease of playing. Normally I am a RPG player, with some platforming. MK and SF2 were basically the only fighting games I played on a regular basis. Sometimes I would play Tekken and the Marvel fighters but that was a rarity. Note: I also played Primal Rage a good bit when it could be found on a regular basis.

Your favourite part in the games?

I enjoy reading the bios and endings, but trying to figure out the special moves and combos are great too. So I guess I really don't have a fav part of the games.

Your favourite character(s)?

*scratches head* I thought everyone knew who my favorite character was. Anyways....LORD RAIDEN!

The direction you want the series to take?

I would like it to spread out some and have multiple games come out concentrating on one or two specific storylines. Right now there is so many characters and storylines that it is causing flame wars as to which character should appear. I also wouldn't mind seeing Midway dust off the old mythologies idea and tell us a little more about the origions (sp?) of some of the characters. Storyline wise, I hope they don't go too far away from their roots. Like Raiden turning evil or something.

Are you a fan of the movies?

The first one yes, the second one was ok...no it sucked. Not sure if this should be part of this answer but just in case...I also loved the TV series MK: Conquest and actually have a FanFiction series based off of it. DotR was also okay for a cartoon series.

If so what was you favourite moment in one or both of them?

Rayden's speech on the boat "The lives of billions depends upon you. (insert laughter) Sorry." (or something like that) and of course the classic Johnny Cage's line "Those were 500 dollars glasses you asshole."

Will the third film be the better of the three films?

We can only hope. I'm praying it is at least as good as the first one.


Do you think animalities ,friendships or babalities will return?

Dunno, depends on what Midway says. As for wanting them...I wouldn't mind Animalities if they are done right. Same for Friendships (Hey, I got a whole sprite komic series based on Kidd Thunder). But NOT babalities. They were a bad idea and one that can not be fixed.

Would you support a remake version of the original MK game?

Depends on how they plan to do it. I wouldn't mind seeing an improved version of MK1 in either 2D or 3D but I rather them spend the time and money on new games. The upcoming release of MK1,MK2 and I think MK3 as part of Midway Treasures is enough for me.

Do you find the female outfits and physical appearances degrading?

With a few exceptions (Sonya, Nitara and Frost's primary) I just think they're stupid. Who in their right mind would fight in a damn swimsuit. I can see where they could be considered degrading, but since the guys wear just as little in some cases (i.e. Johnny, Liu Kang) I don't see it. However....the 'boob physics' I do consider degrading. (Die, Lie Me, die! )

Where you live did that influence your decision to get into Mortal Kombat

Ah...No. I don't think so. I live in S.Texas, USA. A state with an express lane on Death Row and it is legal to carry hidden handguns (with a permit). I don't mind violence so long as it is so extreme it just gets stupid.

My cousin had me play against her, and I enjoyed the game a great day (was about the first fighting game I ever played), so I decided to look more into the story behind it and things like that.

Why you enjoy the series?

The characters, the story, things to that nature.

Your favourite part in the games?

I suppose the characters would be.

Your favourite character(s)?

Jade, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden.

The direction you want the series to take?

It really doesn't matter, just as long as they don't kill off all of the classic characters for new ones.

Are you a fan of the movies?

I liked the first one.

If so what was you favourite moment in one or both of them?

Well, I enjoyed pretty much all of the character interaction. But I suppose the Sub-Zero/Liu Kang, and Johnny Cage/Scorpion fights.

Will the third film be the better of the three films?

I only hope it's better than the second.

There is always a possibility, but for some reason I don't believe they will come back anytime soon.

Sure, as long as it was well done.

Florida, and I suppose in a way, yes. I may not have gotten into it for a long time if it wasn't for my cousin dragging me to the arcade there.
