today i watched final desination 5 and it got me wondering about the series itself and future installments.
the cornor. is he death itself, is he an angel. what is he. he always mentions or hints that he is a messenger. has he seen how he is going to die or is he immortal.
the 1st movie has the plane exploding leading to the premonition.
the 2nd movie has the pile up on the highway that leads to the premonition.
the 3rd movie has the roller coaster disaster that leads to the premonition.
the 4th movie has the race car disaster that leads to the premonition.
the 5th movie has the bridge collapsing that leads to the premonition.
for some reason i think each movie is connected but don't really know how. i'm thinking it's kinda like how the saw films are another piece of the puzzle.
when does the 3rd,4th movie take place. after watching the fifth movie it takes place before the 1st movie. the 2nd film i think takes place 5 years after the events of the 1st film. not sure about 3 though. at the end of the 5th movie they show a picture of a guy with a race number and car. which leads me to think the 4th movie takes place right after the 1st film.
whenever they decide to make the next film i'm curious will it take place between the 3rd,4th film or an actual next installment.
there actually alot the series can do with plot twists. some of the films had really neat ways of surving death. for examples. saving some it skips to the next person, new life brings life, kill to survive.
what are your thoughts on the series and future installments. anyone got takes on my thoughts of the timeline and etc of the series.

Well yes the coroner is Death in human form. It's never said but it's heavily implied.
As for connections to each other I highly doubt there is anything there. I don't think the writers of the first thought that the series would still be going so it's not like it was planned out what would be happening in the fourth or fifth installment. I'm not even sure if it's the same people writing actually.
Personally I loved the first one and liked the second one. I thought it was an interesting twist on the horror genre but I stopped caring after the third. The whole thing is just too formulaic now.
Each plot is essentially "I saw the future and we are going to die...hooray we did not die...oh no now rube goldberg is killing us...hey a loophole, now we can live in safety...or can we?"
So I'm pretty much ready for the end of the series but hey if you enjoy them then rock on they just don't do it for me now.
