So, I'm between jobs right now, and I have... *lots* of free time.
I'd be spending more of it on MK if it weren't for this addictive game with a ridiculous name!
FF+Fighting Game= instant addiction.
I liked the first one, but they improved it in every single way.
I don't feel the least bit fleeced for buying this,
unlike SSFIV and the like.
The world map, new characters, new moves for old characters, new mechanics, and new arenas are all a win with me (well... would've taken Ashe or Balthier over Vaan, but whatever). They did a *lot* of work on the first game to make this one.
My returning favorite characters are Kuja, Cloud of Darkness, Terra, and Kefka.
This new one has improved Ultimecia to the point of her becoming a favorite,
and I'm also quite fond of Kain and Laguna. Yuna is... not my style, despite the fact I love her in FFX. Her Brave Attacks suck, IMO :-\
The real shocker of the bunch, however, is Tifa.
I've *always* hated Tifa (RIP, Aerith),
yet somehow, she's my favorite new character... and for her MAGIC, WTF?!
I *really* wish they would make the next one for PS3-
I want to see this *gorgeous* game on my huge HDTV!
So... any of you also getting distracted by this game?

Time to dust off the PSP.

Yeah, it came out with very little fanfare.
I only knew b/c I was following it in anticipation.
It makes me happy to know you're a FFan.
And yeah, it's pretty much the only reason to own a PSP.
The also-recently-released FFIV remake/compilation is also pretty cool.
Lightning features *heavily* in this game.
The first part of it (and the "Prologus" demo/intro chapter sold separately) are practically mini-FFXIII-2.
I would save up and get a PSP if I were you... maybe even a used one.
This game is such a *perfect* mix of an RPG and a Fighter,
and is reason enough to justify a PSP, IMO.
SF Alpha 3, FF Tactics and Disgaea are also great PSP games,
and MK:U is pretty damned awesome.
I actually prefer it as the MK:D graphics look *much* better on the PSP than my big widescreen.
