I've notice that there are numerous classic games that haven't received sequels. Games that were killers back in their time. On the other hand, there are games that have been receiving sequels left to right like candybars. I've decided to make a personal list of games which I feel need sequels as well a some that I feel have reached their prime. Post your list here.

DO NEED SEQUELS

Battletoads
Double Dragon
Clockwork Knight
Bug!
Eternal Champions
Killer Instinct
Kid Nikki
Wizards & Warriors
Streets of Rage (whatever happened to promised xbox sequel?)
Fear Effect (the third game just has got to be released)
Pocky & Rocky
Lemmings
Valis

DO NOT NEED SEQUELS

Tomb Raider
Final Fantasy (series was supposed to end after ten)

There are already too many, but I'm dying for another Castlevania sequel, and maybe a GOOD Sonic sequel.

I think Sonic Heroes wasn't an actual sequel to the main Sonic Games.

I want to see a 3D sequal to Kirby, and I mean an ACTUAL Kirby game, not a Kirby racing game.

At least there's a good 2D Kirby sequal coming out October 18, for GBA ^_^

They'll keep making Final Fantasy games until people quit buying them. And I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Man Sonic hasnt been that good over the past years, and no where near as good as the old school, speaking of old school I might buy that Sonic Mega Collection for Gamecube.

The Final Fantasy series has had only one "sequel" thus far. Each game doesn't continue a pre-existing storyline; if Square Enix simply gave each game a name, rather than tagging each one with "Final Fantasy" you wouldn't hear such claims.

need a sequel:

castlevania (40+ games is not enough!).
syphon filter (after sftos, elsa could be the new mara... and yes i know about logan's shadow for the psp but that could be a prequel).
(c-12) final resistance ( our work is still unfiished).

dont need a sequel:

twisted metal (sweet tooth since tm4 has lost all his scary shit clown look, looks like some psycho now, no more sadistic clown... and the jones sucked ass!)
street fighter (END IT ALREADY FOR GOD'S SAKE!)
eracted butterfly (friends homebrew but it needs not a sequel!)

Sega (mainly SOA) has always managed to tick off their loyal fans for unexplained reasons. Like back in 96 when they promised Saturn fans another sequel to Eternal Champions, entitled "Eternal Champions: The Final Chapter." Only to have it canned.

There was also a sequel to "Streets of Rage" slated for release on the DC, but Sega turned down Yuzo Koshiro's (game developer's) offer for the game stating that "Fans wouldn't want another sequel to the series," so thus it was then slated over for an xbox release.

Sega also manage to tick off one of their best product companies at the time of the Saturn's lifespan "Working Designs" (back in 97) by turning down a several games which the company had wanted to bring stateside in hopes of saving the Saturn, one game being a title by the name of "Thunderforce IV." So thus, Working Designs got fed up with Sega and hopped onto the Sony bandwagon only to later produce a very successful title for psx1 by the name of "Lunar:Silver Star Story Complete." A title which was also slated for a U.S. Saturn release.

If you ask me, Sega dugged their own grave, and that's why they've landed themselves right along on the 3DO/Atari bandwagon.
