After showing up at Walmart at midnight to get a copy of AB and then finding out that they didnt get it i was angered, so angered that i said to myself to hell with it... i finally gave in today and went to Kmart and picked up a copy and man, would i have been an idiot to pass this up... Sure it does still have some of the old Creed sound (best case scenario "my own prison" sound) but that doesnt keep this album from jamming... finally Mark Tremonti has decided to show that he can be a good guitarist when he wants to be, and he definitly proves it on this album, a good example is the solo for "open your eyes" in which Tremonti plays a wide range of triplets which have imo true metal material all over them... along the way Tremonti has picked up some new skills to bring to Alter Bridge, such as the first song on the cd, it made me think that Mark had been jamming to some Black Label Society before writing the music for this one, due mainly to the use of artifecial hormonics and heavy downward palm mute... the cd even offers a few tunes that gives us some blues riffs... As for the new lead singer, he does really good imo, im not used his type of voice, well James Labrie excluded, but he does good, especially on songs where the whole band joins in unison... so Chainzofmisery wasnt joking when he said an awesome album to pick up...
all in all Ghaleon gives this one a 5/5...
