OK I hope I'm not the only one to hate the new YouTube comments. How many of u have joined bob's army. I want to know more about bomb, is he real or made up?
This is what I'm seeing
âââââââââââââ ]ââââââââ Bob is building an army.
âââ...ââââââââââ...âââ â»/ This tank & Bob are against Google+

So we can take down Google+
And bring back the old comment system

Do the comments suck now? Yeah it's kind of annoying. But the Bob bullshit is even worse. If you think Google is going to be like oh people keep posting that in protest, we should revert back, you're wrong. At this point it's like that annoying meme that won't go away.

I hate the new way, I don't comment anymore I don't have google plus.
Its a better way of showing Google what people want than Bobs.

Solid thread. Discussion regarding Google's idea of a decent comment system is a genuine interest of mine, at the moment.
From what I gather, the system no longer has a character limit, which makes comments a free-for-all. In addition, comments with the most attention are now the focus rather than comments with the most upvotes. Meaning someone who posts, "ur a fag" and gets 100 people to yell at him for being a bigoted troll gets his comments pushed to the top over genuinely insightful comments.
Google's idea of ramming Google+ down our throats is very disappointing, but I can overlook that if they didn't screw everything up in the process. The attitude of "complaining will not cause them to change" is unfortunately most likely true, but it's worth a shot. If people just rolled over and allowed for things to remain terrible, nothing would ever change.
There's also other little things that are awful, like being able to create any Google+ account you want (Santa Claus, Adolf Hitler, Bill Cosby, Barack Obama) and use that to post in the comments. None of the timestamp links seem to work anymore, and viewing comment reply-chains are impossible now.
Another complaint I've heard from content providers is that their alert-system for notifications of new comments is extremely convoluted and impossible to manage now.
Overall, it's just sloppy work. I understand switching over to a Google+ account system, but would it have been so hard to force me to register, keep the comments the same, and allow me to use a pseudonym while posting? All the choices thus far have been silly, and they can only make improvements from here out. (Let's hope I didn't just speak too soon.)
I really do miss Google's "Don't be evil" policy...
