Hello, one and all. In my ripe old age, there aren't many game franchises I get truly hyped about. There are a few though. Mortal Kombat, Elder Scrolls, and...

Grand Theft Auto.

Recently, GameInformer released the first tidal wave of news regarding this game. Being Rockstar's most ambitious title yet, GTA 5 will feature THREE protagonists, all of which will be playable at the same time. We will control them in a map that is reportedly larger than GTA4, San Andreas, and Red Dead Redemption combined. There will be more cars, weapons, and cultural reflections on modern day Los Angeles (Los Santos) than any other game they have portrayed.

Tomorrow, at 11am Eastern time, the second trailer will debut.

This game shows INTENSE promise in the gaming world. After IGN had the privilege of a sit down viewing with Rockstar, they had this to say.

"Grand Theft Auto V could be the benchmark by which all other games – not just open-world games – will be judged against.”

Anyway, I'll post links to news, screenshots, and videos for you all to look over. I'll touch base more a bit later.

I want to get this game as long as it has the humor which GTA IV seriously lacked which led to the game itself not being fun other than free-play online with friends and randoms.

So few games make me a bit giddy on the inside these days. This is one of the few.

Intrigued at how the 3 main characters will work.
Loving the reports of the size of the map.
It's insane how they are still pushing 7 year old technology to the limits.
Looks exquisite. I can't wait to jack a train, hopefully. Go 4 wheelin through the woods, check out the wildlife. Planes in a single city? I still think it's San Andreas state, not just Los Santos. The map in Just Cause 2(SqEnix not R*) is FUCKING HUGE!!!


I was suspicious of the first batch of pics. A lot of them seem to feature the crosswalk button on the poles. That had me thinking about enhanced crowd/traffic mechanics...

Interacting with the button to cross the street safely?

You may be surprised, but it is just one city, surrounded by miles of forrest, deserts, mountains, etc. In an interview, Rockstar said they wanted to do the most accurate representation of LA they have ever done, both culturally and scale wise. The result? Welcome to Los Santos.
