Talks for RE3 has started. The director of the first said he thought of this franchise as a trilogy. So he will be directing the third if it does happen. The title so far is "Residen Evil: Afterlife."

I don't think the ending was stupid, I am positive that Part 3 is to come. The ending was simply a prelude of anohter nightmare.

ENDING SPOILER (durp!)

Remeber in the end how the main Umbrella guy said that Alice had somehow bonded or adapted with the T-Virus instead of it killing her? Well after they found her at the helicopter crash, they hooked her up to machines and pumped her full of T-Virus variants and programmed her brain with something special so they could make her kill on command. Now Alice is pumped up on some sort of uber-variant of the T-Virus. Remember that the T-Virus brings dead cells back to life? Well this varient allows her cells to communicate to other people's cells with just a thought. That's how she made the guy in the control room die, just by thinking of it.

This ending actually reminds me a LOT of the PSone game "Parasite Eve" which I'm sure the ending was heavily influenced by considering that the security guy dies almost in the same way Eve could kill people just by thinking of it in Parasite Eve.

If Umbrella is brought down then it will bring a nice close to a trilogy that should stay a trilogy. Besides, Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube is taking place 6 years after Umbrella is shut down, so it WILL happen in the storyline.

I saw it and yeah I too was confused by the ending. Of course, anyone with eyes could see it was leading to a part three, IMO I think they should just let Alice DIE already. I mean she has no role what so ever in the Resident Evil Franchise, why do they keep her alive and with already two movies made. Also, why have they only introduced two (Jill and Carlos) of the many lead characters of the games in the movies, with the last one in the making I hope they at least have Chris and Wesker in them.

Its was a good movie imo.I liked jill most in the movie cause well i shouldnt really have to explane that one.But for anyone who saids on this was supposed to be a zombie movie,dude did you ever play the 3rd game.It had zombies in it sure,but the enemy was in fact nemesis.And I think the 3rd game had more action in it to then the entire horror genere.Also dont expect the 3rd movie to really have zombies in it cause its supposed to be after the events of RE4 game.And if you know anything by now,the RE4 game isnt supposed to have zombies in it at all.


I just wanted to say it cause people are all like well this movie looks like its all action and action aside for a moment cause thats what it was supposed to be.Its more to the 3rd game then anything else.So I think it actually did stay true to that.Also did anyone remember how they had the intro from the 3rd game in the movie,which kicked ass.

re:2 was by far the greatest movie I have gone to see in theaters in the last 4 or 5 months! i mean it was all around a great movie! and for those you will start the o hes not a fan of the games crap ur wrong. i am a fan of the video games but i dont look to the movies to represent the games we have played for so many years. i look to them as enjoyable zombie bashing fun. i cant wait for re:3 afterlife to come out! also resident evil outbreak file #2 is also on my list!

You know, you have a point, when I saw Alice die and she was lieing on that rock I felt satisfied. Like I was content with how the 2 movies combined went, but then they cut to the scene in the lab and I'm thinking what the hell now?

I so I am kind of skeptical of the 3rd now, but thats ok, I was skeptical of all of them.

by the main story line Umbrella was doomed during RE:Nemesis, but it came about mainly to Wesker joining another faction and hunting down Alexia to gain information on the Veronica virus... After the defeat of the last of the Ashfords, pretty much Wesker and the the new faction has taken over...

btw, did anyone else expect the blonde haired guy in the lab coat at the end of the movie to be Wesker??? I kept looking for them to call him by Albert or Wesker cause the movies r different from the games (if it went by the games Wesker would be in the new faction after RE1) but it wasnt...
