i have used alot of weapons in my life, but i never got to use shaken winds before.

(note: shaken wind = shuriken)

i was wondering if anyone has used a shaken wind (shuriken) before, i always thought that if not thrown right you could seriously slice you're fingers up (since all the points on them are sharp), i was wondering if anyone has ever used one before, and how hard is it to learn how to throw one effectively?

also, this thread can be of discussion of shaken winds, shurikens, throwing stars, chinese stars, or whatever you like to call them.

I have used various shapes, styles, configurations before and none of them are meant to be piercing weapons like most people seem to think they are. They were used to distract the opponent,in the hopes of delivering a counter attack.
And this thread is better suited for the "martial arts" thread.
