This is a thread about my favourite genre, horror.
Someone will say a movie, we will discuss, then I will state that it is time to move on. The first person(that actually saw the movie) that made a post first will then get to name the next film for discussion.
I will start:
Tales from the Hood

You can't do that. We have to totally discuss Tales from the Hood first, I have to tell it is time to move on then the first person to respond about the movie if they saw it can come up with a new title. Read the rules first.

Uhhh.. Bump?
I just wanna say that although I never saw the film, I will see it Saturday and I really wanna hear what you guys thought of it and I think this is a great thread. Whenever I go to HMV, the DVD guy ALWAYS knows about this film and his thoughts on it. So ha.

This seems to frustrate you all. We must discuss, and go into details about your opinion on the film. I'll keep discussions short if you MUST have it that way. It looks like a real kool flick to me, anyways.

Also, no spoilers. You can go ahead with the Hell ending though, the trailer gives it away.

There was an actual post in that post(lol). It wasn't really a bump. Read the message first.
Edit: Btw I will start editing instead of posting more like that. Thx for advice.

Fine then. Now we shall discuss BOTH Tales from the Hood and:
Bride of Re-Animator
Bride of Re-Animator

Dude no offense but...
Why the fuck would you start off with Tales from the Hood? It's not that great of a movie. HOWEVER, I will mention that those little puppets that came to life out of the painting at the end were a bit creepy when I was younger. But with that said...
Why not start off with The Classics?
Halloween?
Nightmare On Elmstreet?
Or Even...
Jacobs Ladder. Now THATS a freaky ass movie.

If u want this thread to become popular u have to pick less obscure movies. ......................................................
I'm with Quirk, let's discuss Cube next. I thougt it was really well done for an independant movie (from Canada too
) and it's even more impressive because they were working w/ a relatively low budget. The only disappointment for me was the ending, but it was ok I guess. I loved the death scenes - very graphic, and it's great cus u never find out how they became trapped in the cube, or who trapped them? I know there is a sequel called "Cube2: Hypercube" but I've never seen it...

Fine. We shall discuss the Re-Animator series. The 1st one is most definitely a classic.
No obscure? you're no fun! Cube is not a classic either btw. And dude, The devil and images of Hell did not scare you? Wow.

hate to tell you man but when you are a fan of horror images of hell and the devil are the things that get to you the least. If you want to see some disturbing shit check out films by the "Godfather of Gore" Lucio Fluci. His films such as Zombie,The Beyond,New York Ripper,The Gates of Hell and House by the Cemetery. On a side note yes the Re-Animator aeries is very good. Herbert West played by Jeffrey Combs is my all time favorite "mad scientist" Also part 2 was a great hommage to Bride of frankinstien. Also if you want a thread like this to be popular you aill have to start with the mainstream horror icons that many know and then work your way down to lesser known but still classic horror films like April Fools Day,My Bloody Valintine,Maniac,Night of the Creeps,Fright Night,,House,In the mouth of Madness, Popcorn,Funhouse,Graveyard Shift,Society,The cheesy fun that is the sleep away camp series,Tales from the darkside the movie, shocker, the people under the stairs........so many many more

Ill stick to my fav Horror flicks, the Slashers. Gimme a JASON (King of Slashers IMO, the guy is unstoppable, literally), Freddy, Pinhead, Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead & Cenobites, Candyman, or Chucky flick and im set. I love the Slasher sub-genre of horror more than any other kind of horror. Im obssessed with these guys and i got the memorbillia and collection that will blow your face off to prove it. As cheesy as their films are, its always entertaining to see Jason jam a party horn in some half naked chics eyeball, Pinhead ripping people apart with hundreds of hooked chains, or have little Mikey Myers go ape shit on his own cult members with a large surgical knife... now thats my brand of entertainment.

Whatever you do, stay the hell away from Hypercube. Oh god is it horrible. Giving the people a decent budget to work with was a mistake. They focused all on CG and totally forgot about writing a plot that made any sense. On the bright side there are a few quick flashes of boobs in one scene... Hmm... Nope, that's not enough to re-deem it.

Nightmate on Elm Street Series: The first one was a defining in horror. The idea of some one killing you in yourdreams is creepy as hell. The second one was ok. 3 rocked up there with the first one.. Dream Warriors theme was cool, but should of been explored more I think. 4 was made just to cash in on Freddy, but it has its parts. 5 was better, but Freddy's Dead is a piece of shit... I mean dude.... they don't explain how he can get into the other kids' dreams, his make up was shitty, and it was super cartoony...
New Nightmare didn't have over the top kills, but was an excellent movie in its own right and was up there with 1 and 3... Freddy vs. Jason rocked and brought back the old Freddy plotline in the movie universe... Jason kicks ass in the his movie too, and the plot infuses old nightmare topics with a new spin on things(hypnocil from 3)...
Jason movies are ok... Jason goes to Hell, 7, and F vs Jason are my favorites in this series
The first Evil Dead is an excellent creepy horror flick that can be very cheesy, but fun at times... the second one mixed more comical elements and then Army of Darkness became 100% dark comedy
John Carpenter's The Thing is one of the best horror movies ever made... the special effects were amzing even for now I think... and it was done in '82
Hellraiser series also rocks... even the straight to video ones...
OK OK here is a topic for you guys to discuss as well as the above...
Phantasm series... GO
