Does it really hold that chimps are up to 5-10 times physically stronger than humans, as I happened to learn by watching a 'National Geographic' documentary?

Also, on "en.allexperts.com", I found this:

"As for the strength of the animals, a chimp in the wild has the strength of 4 to 7 adult men, however generally five adult men..
An orangutan has the strength of 5 to 8 adult men, however generally 7 adult men.
A gorilla has the strength of 9 to 12 adult men, however generally about 11."

as well as:

"Compared to humans, anthropoid apes are top heavy and use their arms to support their weight when moving. Humans concentrate more of their muscle weight in their legs and so, compared to anthropoid apes, have relatively weak arms."

Yet some scientists, like e.g. John Hawkes, cite various texts in which these beliefs are discredited by examples where dynamometer showed results of how hard a man and a chimp can pull: chimps, he says, might be regarded as twice as strong as humans, but hardly any more than that.

What do you know or think about this?

I think the only way to settle all this is get a chimpanzee, an alpha male mind you not just some chump chimp, and a professional fighter, preferably a champion or at least a former champion. Then you lock the two in a cage and force them to compete in a no hold bars death match. Whoever comes out alive is the strongest species and the loser will have to be eradicated due to their weakness.

NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH, extreme real facial mutilation.

Point: not even Arnold in his prime could have handled one without serious risk of injury. Not to mention their bites. Now, imagine what a gorilla or a baboon can do with you.

That woman's face. I wonder if she is honestly not upset about everything that has happened. I don't think I'd be able to be so ... inspirational.

I don't know about chimps but I have no trouble believing these statistics for an orangutan. Watch this video:

Chimps are incredibly strong. But the thing is, it's not just their physical power that's the issue. It's that when they attack they do so with reckless abandon. This isn't like going toe to toe in a boxing ring with Mike Tyson. This is like...zombie Mike Tyson who will barrel through plate glass windows and thinks only of clawing and biting the fuck out of you and nothing short of a gunshot to the head will stop him.

Even a normal sized human with that kind of berserker aggression is unbelievably dangerous. Now add three or four times the raw power to that.
