I am so pissed at Adult Swim right now.
About three years ago, Adult Swim started its mighty debut on Saturday nights on Cartoon Network. It showed THREE hours of anime (most was uncut). They later added an extra block to Sunday nights, with nothing but Comedy shows from a group called Williams Street.
Somewhere along the line, Saturday's Adult Swim was taken off the air.
About..oh...I'll say a year ago, Adult Swim started airing five days a week (Sunday-Thursday). Sundays were pure comedy. Mondays-Thursdays were a mix of anime shows and comedy.
Then it happened. About February, 2004, Adult Swim announced the RETURN of the Saturday action block after three years. Many fans, including myself, were overjoyed. The time came in April, when the block was back on the air.
11:00: *New* Inuyasha
11:30: *New*Wolf's Rain
12:00: FLCL(recently replaced by With Hunter Robin, as FLCL is only six episodes long)
12:30: Inuyasha re-runs
1:00: Cowboy Bebop *classic*
1:30: Trigun *classic*
However, a few nights ago, Adult Swim announced they would re-schedule the Saturday action block to this in about a week or so:
11:00: Futurama
11:15: Sealab 2021
11:30: Sealab 2021
12:00: Inuyasha
12:30: Wolf's Rain
1:00: Cowboy Bebop
1:30: Trigun
...Anyone who hasn't followed Adult Swim for the past three years is thinking "So?" Well, the point of the return of the Saturday action block was to APPEASE the anime and action show fans! We don't fucking Futurama or Sealab2021! Futurama practically airs all fucking week now! Adult Swim just slapped everyone in the face who was awaiting the return! We want our action/anime shows back! Witch Hunter Robin had ONE run time and then was replaced shortly after the beginning of the second run time with Case Closed (great show, but besides the point).
What happened to the uncut Yu Yu Hakusho which was the FIRST show back in the classic days? What happened to Outlaw Star? Seriously, fuck this.
Sorry if this sounds like a jarrbled mess but I'm really fucking angry, and I have one million other viewers who can vouch for that. Maybe if they advertised the action block anywhere BUT THE ACTUAL ACTION BLOCK it would get more viewers. A lot of people didn't even know it came back!

I love it, but I only watch Sunday nights usually.
I am pissed however, that they changed the Sunday lineup.
Harvey Birdman - owns
SeaLab - Fucking pure ownage
ATHF - best show on the network, and a lot of other networks for that matter
THIS is where they screwed the pooch. They used to play the 'Ripping Brothers' and a cartoon with Will Farrell (Oblongs maybe?) and they both OWNED. Now they replaced both some stupid bullshit.

Ripping Friends was TERRIBLE. Oblongs was pretty funny, but there were only so many episodes.
While were on the subject, I have to say, they need to put more real cartoons on Adult Swim. I know these are liked by most... but "the brak show" "aqua teen hunger force" "Harvey Birdman" "sealab 2021"
These are shit... pure shit. They rely completely on written material... and that's REALLY half assed of them. The anime thay show relys on BOTH. They have good animation AND storys- they're REAL cartoons, because they don't choose to have one without the other. what are they trying to do here?! Step aside for the japanese?! As americans, we can, and we really should be
making shit thats just as cool as anime.
That's just my 7 cents

U just slammed 4 of my fav shows :(
Not trying to sound cool or hip or anything, but I think honestly Adult Swim is made for stoners. Watch sealab high and you'll see what I mean, it's literally 10x funnier.

Great point there tho, I agree 110%.
While some anime is cool on there, that shitty ass cartoon with the japanime kid with the glasses and bow-tie pisses me off to no end.

Case Closed (despite having a shitty name, but that's FUNimation's fault. It should be called Detective Conan) is 100x better than any of the Williams Street stuff. 360+ episodes of mysteries is awesome.

Hunger Force is too hard on my eyes.I still haven't laughed at it yet.I watched Cowboy Beop once and it was pretty good.Alot better than I expected and thats coming from someone who dosen't like Anime.I can't say I don't like Anime because Anime is like everything else it has it's mainstream side and Underground side.

Yeah, I was seriuosly pissed when they showed the new line up. Get Futurama the fuck off the air!. Keep Sealab 2021 on Sundays and make Saturday all anime. I just thought of something. Why is it called Adult Swim when only kids under the age of 14 can't watch it? Shouldn't they have some gorey shows to make it adult rated?

DrCube Wrote: I havent been able to watch Adult Swim for about 3 years now and I was wondering if Space Ghost is still on. I heard it might have been cancelled. |
Every time I watch Space Ghost, it's a repeat, but it's still on the air. It used to be a part of Sunday Night's Adult Swim, but it hasn't been on for the past month or so.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
SeaLab 2021
Harvey Birdman
Space Ghost - Coast to Coast
Brack Show
Those are my fav shows, and Futurama is pretty damn funny, shame more ppl didn't catch it when it was on Fox.

Yay!
no more anime
no more lame animation and no more nothing ever happening!!
it'd be cool if they got some cool adult shows like the old spawn series!
but seriously, no one can really like anime....its as bad as playing marvel vs capcom.
futurama rules! CN is the only place i can watch it and i think it should air as much as the simpsons
The other comedy shows are a guilty pleasure

Sealab 2021 is awesome! So random, bloody hilarious!

yeah..I'm kind of annoyed at how they move some of my favorite shows to later times. whatever happened to Home Movies? I really liked that show and they seemed to have gotten rid of it or something...

All I used to watch on Adult Swim was the anime but they got rid of a lot of it or I dont know what happened but now all I watch is Cowboy BeBop, Trigun, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

i like all the comedy shows they have on now (harvey birdman, ATHF, sealab, home movies, mission hill, and especially family guy) but i HATE anime, so i ONLY watch adult swim for comedy. if i had it my way all cartoon network would be is adult swim comedy cartoons.
Cartoon Network still has to abide by certain standards, because, well, the network IS aimed towards kids. That's why even the late night stuff is partially censored. The FCC sucks, no?
Here's what the current lineup is:

1:30: Trigun
You can keep your comedy on the OTHER five days a week. Most of the viewers want the old Saturday back.

I see those of us that love action animes, from reading this thread, are in the minority. I love all those comedies and yes I admit watching them high is off the ish, but what the cuf, Saturday's should be left as the action day and not replaced by the comedies. I like every show of adult swim equally with the exception of Trigun, aqua teen HF, Inuyasha, cowboy beebop, and family guy,; these on another level of coolness in my own opinion. They are great to watch man.
Although, this is the first time I have heard of this schedule change
