i found me a new pet this morning.

i was walking to class this morning when i was caught by a praying mantis eating the face off of a large fly.. i plan on keeping him as a pet.. i know i just need to feed it other insects and water.. and keep it in a warm place.. anyone had a mantis as a pet before?..

Man I don't think anyone has a praying mantis for a pet,

I dont have a Mantis...i have a Red legged Trantula. I had it ever since it was a yearling.
BTW- Mantises have a short life span. About 1 year.

That sounds about right. Very few insects live for over a year, except and and termite queens, which can live up to about 15 years, I believe.

it was in the hall and it was freeeee.. im not spending out the ass on it either.. just got some tupperware and jabbed it for breathing holes.. and it eats insects.. and those are free too..
