Metroid : Zero Mission
CastleVania : Aria of Sorrow
CastleVania : Circle of the Moon
Most of the best games I can think of are classic black and white GameBoy games.

Mario and Luigi: SuperStar Saga

...one of the coolest games on GBA.

Here's one that hasn't been released yet but it's gonna kick ass...

Get Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition.
It's a really good game, and hell, it's the only GBA game I own and bought it with my GBA SP on the day I got that.
Lots of neat stuff to open up in the krypt to keep you playing.

I recommend Advance Wars 1 and 2. Turn-based strategy, but easy to get into and mucho funola.
WarioWare Inc is my favourite game on GBA at the moment, though. What happens is, you get bombarded with mini-games where you have to do all kinds of crazy shit (like Cut The Sausage or Stop The Snot From Dripping Out Of The Chick's Nose), and you have to win each one in about three seconds. So if you've got a short attention span, this game's for you.

Pretty much all the games everyone said so far are sweet.
P.S. - Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga, as well as Wario Ware Inc. are AWESOME games. Definately worth getting.
