I need to know something about "scanned pictures"

What exactly are "scanned pictures" and why do mods delete them?? because i posted a pic before of Skab and the thread was deleted because of it being a "scanned picture" but i dont know what i did wrong to get it deleted? and i just read a thread somewhere and someone said to delete the scanned pic in the thread to the orignal poster. so can someone tell me what exactly is a "scanned pic" so i know what pictures i can and can not post.

I'm not the best one to tell you, but i think it has to do ,with copyrighted stuff. Whatever pic you may want to post may belong to a magazine, which does'nt get payed for your use of the pic, though it should. I think that's it, but i may be wrong.

Hope that helped a little.

see thats what i thought they were, but ive seen other threads with pics from IGN with the IGN logo and everything on it and it was ok? i dont get it lol.

Scanned pics are pics that are taken from a magazine, scanned, then posted on a website. The copyrights of the magazine were violated. And something almost happened to this site awhile back, so that is why they don't allow it. Pics that were GIVEN to a specific website are allowable.
