Inception
Inception
My four favourite actors are Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Paul Rudd. So like, this movie nearly had them all. So of course I had to go see it. And of course I loved it. But. It's still not my favourite movie of all time. I loved the ending, because at first I thought it was clearly one way, but then I remembered
And it makes me totally think the ending is the other way!
Either way. Great movie. I hope noone overhypes it to themselves before they go see it so they can just enjoy it.
AND haha I've got to say, there was a trailer before it for Devil and the audience was all like '...' and then it's like M. Night Shamylan and the whole audience starts laughing and clapping and it's so funny that that guy is now just the punchline to his own jokes now.
And after Inception someone yelled 'that's how you do it Shamylan!'
Haha. Oh gosh. Poor guy. Even if I was a fan of Signs.

Yeah, I liked signs too. He's relying on third act twists too much, which aren't as gratifying or that thrilling anymore. It's all becoming too formulaic with his recent movies (not counting Airbender). Maybe he's done a bit of self analysis and done something different with this new movie. Eh we'll see.
As for Inception, I really want to see this. Maybe either tomorrow or Sunday I'll head to the theater. But it appears he can do no wrong. Though, they said that about M. Night for a time. lol However, this guys takes is time with every project and thinks everything out so technically... it's just amazing.

I don't want to say a thing about the movie for those who haven't seen it because I feel it's best to go into a movie totally blind. \
So all I have to say is: AHHHHH IT WAS AWESOME!!!

I'm sure it's good. Nolan makes solid stuff.
But 2 hours and 28 minutes? Forgive me if it sounds like I'm whining, but the premise does nothing for me. One reviewer called it "The Matrix meets Minority Report." In other words, they fused the two movies with the least amount of replay value ever into one film. I have absolutely zero desire to see anything of that nature. I know I should weigh that statement with a grain of salt, but it's so precisely the movie I wouldn't care about.
I make no judgment, and if you guys say it's good, I'll eventually give it a shot. I'm also glad there's a twist. That gives me an incentive. I guess we'll see.

The only thing Inception resembles with The Matrix is some of the action scenes, and it has no resemblance with Minority Report. That reviewer sucks.
You know what else is very interesting to note?
But then again, that's so obvious. He did that on purpose. It must be a plot device to get you off track? Or he knew people would think it would get you off track, when in fact it is the right track? Mind explosion!

The children were apparently played by multiple actors, for the different ages of their life. Such as the girl being three and five years old and the boy being twenty months and three years old. More signs that point me to the conclusion that the ending is infact, not a dream.

Without giving away.."Limbo" was a very interesting concept and I also loved the paradox ideas and loops that were thrown in there.
as for the ending..
I dont buy many movies unless i believe they are works of art, this one will be a purchase for sure.

I am pretty sure the top NOT falling is meant to give the impression of it being a dream. Which ACTUALLY would fall back into his wife being right the whole time. The fact that the top wabbles a bit right before the black screen makes me think they wanted us to speculate aswell.

I probably won't be able to see this sadly, but it's good to hear that Nolan still has it. One of the best American filmmakers still around today.
Has DiCaprio ever done a bad movie? All his shit is top shelf. His first movie was awesome, gangs was awesome, I'm not a fan of Romeo + Juliet but it was watchable, Shutter Island kicked ass, and now y'all make me wanna see Inception! I gotta admit though I'm jealous of the guy! He gets tons of ass and money and you hardly ever see him in the tabloids. So he must be a class act

he was in a critters movie if I am not mistaken... wasnt good at all. hahaha

I don't think the Beach got good reviews, but it is 1 of my more favorite movies of his, along with Basketball Diaries, and the Departed. I still haven't seen Shutter Island yet, and this movie is looking pretty good too.

Whenever Cobb is dreaming he is wearing a wedding band, however in the end, he is not. Also, the kids are wearing different shoes. Same clothing. But you know what? Remember when Cobb gave the kid's grandfather gifts for the kids? I am pretty damn sure that those were the same clothes as the time as he left them. Also, if you check IMDB the kids have two different actors each, for ages about two years apart.

whenever we put spoilers up for people that haven't seen the movie, we should just bullshit around. Make people think we're discussing very deep things not meant for there eyes when we're actually just talking about McDonalds or some useless shit. btw, my dog took a dog biscuit up to my bed while I was sleeping and I woke up with all these bug bites around me. So I kicked the shit out of my dog and changed the sheets. Has that happened to anyone else?

Finally saw "Inception." It was good. I'd go as far as to say it was better than the "Dark Knight," which I liked for the most part (it's not the film-making miracle people painted it to be, but I still enjoyed it). The guy from "Third Rock from the Sun" rocked my shit.
The movie had some problems, though. For one thing,

The implementation of the "kick" stopped making sense to me once they reached sub levels of sleep. I get why it works when performed on the real-world subject, but why does it work when performed upon the person's dream form? It isn't a physical stimulus since it's being done to dream manifestation of someone's body (read: not the physical body). This is a dream: once that person has entered a deeper level, why would that manifestation have any relevance/connection to the mind of the sleeper? Is the sleeper replicating himself every time he goes into a new sleep layer and all these manifestations share sensations? Some may say it's the power of suggestion, but it occurs outside the perceptions of the sleeper, so why would that work?

How do you sedate someone inside a dream? What exactly is a dream sedative? Do you buy it at the dream pharmacy? I realize you could say "well, they're already under powerful anesthesia and the machine is probably dictating their level of sleep," so I have to ask then, why is the act of sedation even relevant inside the dream?

I made a rather terrible pun, saying I liked the Joseph Gorden-Levitt-ation sequences (yeah...BOO). Incredible actor, and has a wide range of roles, from Neil in "Mysterious Skin", to (of all characters) Cobra Commander in "GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra.
But I was rather amused by the Batman cameos, between Michael Cain (Alfred) and Cillian Murphy (Scarecrow), along with Hans Zimmer returning to do the music.
And Ellen Page is as sickeningly adorable as always :P
One other thing: For some reason, Leo DeCaprio (voice wise) sounds EXACTLY like Hayden Christensen. If you close your eyes, he sounds just like Anakin Skywalker.

Would the faces and clothes actually NOT amtter if it were infact just another set of stipulations from another dream? Sure he never seen their faces in the level of dreaming, but as "kicks" and death apply to multiple levels of dreamstates, so could memories and occurances correct? The only factor that could contribute is something that the dreamer is not directly having awareness of aka the spinning top. It did not fall, yea it wobbled, but did not fall. His wife was right IMO. The last twist that we expected.
