Does anyone else agree with me on this one? I thought season 1 KI was great. Pay $20 for all characters or $40 for everything. But then Iron Galaxy comes along and turned the game into a pay-to-win. Sort of. For starters, now you have to play another 40 or 20 dollars but also, now there's a level up system instead of the credit system and in my opinion, it takes FOREVER to level up. Also, they are asking you to buy in-game currency to unlock in games costumes, music, concept art, etc. They are have boosters in the game or at least plan to add them. I don't, I felt, Double Helix did a good job on KI but the IG came along. Also, IG doesn't seem to metion DH in the opening credits anymore even thought all the Iron did was come along and add more DLC but changed one or two things.

So, what you're saying is, despite the fact you can still level up manually (despite it taking time) and the fact microtransactions for costumes are completely optional, it's a ruined game.

They said from the get-go that seasons purchased individually will not give you the other seasons. You should have purchased the complete version like I did. It even came with the 2 original arcade titles.

I'm holding final opinion until Season 2 is finished and all content is out.

I'll admit, I haven't played KI much (or any game for that matter since I got Destiny). I did purchase the Ultra edition of season 2 and have tried out characters for a little bit as they where released.

So far, I feel things have been kind of mixed. I think the overall design of season 2 characters and stages are good. I think IG has done considerably better job with character animations and what not.

What I really don't like though is that some of the more recent characters, like kanra, omen and arganos don't seem to fit in with KI and I really hate some of the gameplay and meta game changes to the game. I feel IG has actually balanced the game for the worste. I think this last point is also what is killing the community as well. I though Double Helix has a good philosophy when it came to balancing and patching season 1, and I feel Iron Galaxy went too far with some of the nerfs, or not enough with the buffs.

They've also done a poor job explaining the new mechanics like air recapute, which I feel like a complete noob at the game again since it't been introduced. I'm hoping for new/update training mode that actually explains this better. Which is really what my final opinion of IG and Season 2 is going to hingeon in the end.

I totally agree with you, they ruined the whole fucking game with adding content that no one asked for, changed the game, the hud fucking everything. Double helix made one of the best fighting games in existence and IG completely ruined it and they are proud about adding all these stupid patches too. Trash dev team go back to divekick

Microsoft ruined Killer Instinct when they decided to keep it teen rated.

Can't believe this thread is still on the first page.

I'll give my updated take since the game basically ran it's course.

IG ruined the hell out of the damn game. The way they over balanced it and the updated mechanics. Also the new characters they introduced where damn aweful compared to what Double Helix did with Sadira. Completely uninspiring.

I will give IG credit though, for at least bringing back the full roster from the previous games. And I genuinely did like the updated designs on those characters. In some regards it reminded me of MKT.

Still doesn't change the fact they botched the game from a mechanics standpoint.
