for anyone that has seen this movie, is it me or is this movie "immmortal" i mean look at its premise, the fact that it creates real tension, and even if you know the results it makes you wonder just wat the hell happened, this definetly falls under my favorite movies, while there was a video game (a rather good one) made about the thing, wat do you ppl think of this movie and franchise in general?

Carpenter is one of my all time favorite directors and writers. The Thing is actuallu a studty of enclosure and isolationism with horror and mistrust throwin in the mix. It's a great movie not just a horror movie.

Since there's indication that a sequel is on the way, I hope that it will be as riviting as the original. Unfortunatly I havent played the game version. Maybe when I get a new computer, I'll pick it up.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time, the graphics are freaky even nowadays... If you get the dvd version the making of feature is pretty interesting... I heard a sequel was on the way also... the game is ok, but some of the plot points are slightly confusing...

The movie is one of my all time favorites. I own the special edition dvd with loads of extras and behind the scenes stuff. The game was...well...ok I guess. If a sequel is coming I pray Carpenter does it, and it rivals the original. My other favorite Carpenter movies are: The Fog, Escape From New York, John Carpenter's Vampires, and of course...Halloween.
P.S: Ghosts Of Mars....wtf was that all about???!!!

Man once I saw this thread I headed over to Blockbuster and I looked for it only to see it gone... But I did score NBA Street Vol. 2, RE:Code Veronica X and Enter The Matrix for like $25... so it was all gravy...
