You know if john McCain ran for presidency on a moderate platform, I think he would pose the largest threat yet to the two party system.. not saying he would quite win.... but he might do some damage.

Oh, wait. I forgot that Bush's smear campaign in 2000 called McCain's wife a drug addict. Now McCain is supporting Bush.

Unfortuantly that's one of the problems of the party system, it's the same with Edwards, Kerry, Dean, Liberman and such... F you, your a cock.. then a few months later, oh hey youd make a great president.
