A guy told me earlier Look to La Luna.. I thought he was kidding and giving me a hard time about Mortal Kombat referances then he was like no seriously look at the moon!
I guess this happens again in 400 years?

No, not 400 years. People seem to be misunderstanding the number of years here.
Lunar Eclipses are more frequent than that; however, more often than not, they aren't full, like it is tonight. Those only happen every couple of years (but not every few centuries).
That being said, I missed it this year thanks to nothing but rain.

No, there was a special event that took place during this time that will happen again in the next four hundred years and that's having a lunar eclipse and the winter equinox happening at the same time.
Unfortunately for me, I missed it.

There's a winter equinox?
I thought there was a winter solstice...

Aside from the date though, there wasn't any difference with this lunar eclipse compared to the other ones that have happened. I also heard that the next one to happen on a winter solstice would be in 2094, so it might be sooner than 400 years.
