Any other Nintendo fans looking extremely forward to this besides me? I simply cant wait to get this game, i've waited for so long. Finally, over 100 screen shots have been released on different sites, and there are dozens of gameplay footage videos on IGN.
As IGN states, Mario Tennis GC will be alot different than the Mario Tennis that was on the N64. In certain stadiums(courts) there will be hazards to liven up your matches and for you to look out for. This will make things alot more challenging and interesting. On Donkey Kongs Jungle court, there will be kremlings walking the net, and once hit they will walk around trying to clamp onto you. If they get you they slow you down temporarily. On Luigi's Mansion court there are ghosts flying around and above you that can spook you into freezing and shaking. There are also other super-natural baddies throwing banana skins on the court which can be slipped on.
And heres another new thing..........character specials. Each character will have there own unique and distinctive special attack hits where they hit the ball in there own special way. This happens when you're on-screen alter ego glows. The X button will activate a special power shot unique to each character. Mario has a special where his tennis racket becomes a huge hammer(like in Melee) and he slames the ball with it which flies across at the opponents side very fast. Donkey Kong jumps into a giant barrel cannon to fire himself at the ball. This is awesome IMO, and definately makes up for the hazards on stages.
Also, every character has a defensive super move which lets them quickly move around the court and return the shot(special shots). Waluigi floods the court and swims to the other side to make the return. I wonder if you can also do this to normal shots as well, most likely you can too.
Unlike in the N64 Mario Tennis, in the GC Mario Tennis there is still plenty of skill involved in accurately placing your shots and knowing when to use special moves, as well as using the environments to your advantage. So there will probably be alot of practising and it wont be dead easy to master this game.
As for controls, the A button volleys, the B button lobs, the X button performs your character's specials, and the stick moves your character around the court and helps to aim your shots. By the way, there will be TONS of courts, some of them looking classic style like in 2D Mario games. You will see 2D goombas and koopa turtles walking around, 2D pipes in backround, old style bricks, ETC. Its gonna be awesome.
Here are some screen shots:

I'm guessing thats Waluigi's defensive move where he floods his side of the arena with water and swims to hit the ball. Looks nifty.

I hear that its also possible to have 3 on 3 and 4 on 4 matches. I wonder how that works. There are also going to be ALOT of hidden and secret characters. But as far as i and everyone else knows(including my Japanese friend who finds out extreme info), the roster so far is this:
- Mario
- Luigi
- Wario
- Waluigi
- Yoshi
- Birdo
- Toad
- Boo
- Bowser
- Donkey Kong
- Diddy Kong
- Peach
- Daisy
- Toadette?
- Plum?
- Shadow Mario?
- Shy Guy?
- Petey Pirhana?
- Baby Bowser?
- Baby Mario
- Baby Luigi
- Koopa?
- Paratroopa
The ones with the question mark beside them are not 100% sure yet, though EXTREMELY most likely. My Japanese friend Jing had gotten told from a source that they will most likely be in when he went to japan. But the ones without the question marks beside them are 100% in. One things for sure......there will be alot more than that.
Also, there will be special ring stages and such just like in the old Mario Tennis for N64. This also means the items are returning such as Lightning, shells, bananas, ETC. Theres gonna be alot of new items to. Apart from the normal Tennis play, theres ALOT of other special events and modes. Cant wait to see em.
Release Date: November 8th. Thats just in 1 month! w00 h00!
Well, tell me what you guys think. Do you like it so far? Let me hear ur thoughts!

Awesome job on the thread, bro!
I want this game. I never got to play the original Mario Tennis so this'll be a new experience. The game looks amazing and fun! Although I have to wait longer for it!

This is why I love my Nintendo, it's just got such great color adn the characters are still cool and fun and bright. I like my dark and shaded games too, but nobody makes such excellent vivid characters IMO like the Mario Clan.

Thanks for the comments tgrant/IOLKW, and i agree its looking awesome. I'm definately gonna get it the day it the first day it comes out. Seems like theres gonna be alot of interesting courts from various Mario games.
Colgate - It will probably cost $69.99 since every new release game costs that exact amount at first. Some places might have it for $59.99. This is in Canada though, so if you live in the U.S. it will probably be alot cheaper.
Toxik - I agree. I loved the first one alot which makes me want to get this one even more.
Greenroom - I 100% agree with ya on that. There are always bright and awesome colors in Mario games, definately vivid and neat. Every detail always has nifty colors which makes the games look great.

I agree. As much as i love the cast, it just seems like there running out of ideas. What i mean by this is that it just looks like there randomly picking off normal baddies from the games and trying to turn them into an actual character thats part of the real Mario cast. Take Petey Pirhana for instance. Theres so much better characters they can choose from, some characters being from Wario Ware and such. Its all good still though, i love the current cast.
You can tell there will be different modes because these pics are also part of Mario Tennis GC:

These pics look different from normal Tennis in Mario Tennis. These must be from different modes, they look awesome. This also includes the Bloober pic.
