Nintendo is comprised of three Japanese words. Nin, Ten, Dou, and when combined it means we kicked the holy shit outta Atari.

And it's...8 bit!

There are about 10 amazing things here but ONE HORRIBLE ABOMINATION. It'll be easy to see what that is.

Well, I can't say I'm excited, but I'm happy to see another installment being that I respect the series dearly. Still, I'm more into the Mega Man X franchise.

Oh... how MMX has fallen. The story was bad in X4, but in X5-X8... it's like they weren't even trying. Did the creators of the latter console editions even PLAY the first three MMX games?

Sorry. [/rant]

Hmm, I'm kind of indifferent with this news. Never was a huge MegaMan fan but I did enjoy playing the older ones, once they changed I kind of lost interest in the series overall.

If it plays like the older games, I'll most likely check it outglasses

Mega Man X8 is actually very good. Much better than the last couple.

In terms of gameplay, absolutely. In terms of story... I don't know, it's the same continuity problem. It's like every installment forgets the conflict that preceded it. Mega Man X6 ignores the Wiley foreshadowing of X5; X7 ignores the ambitions of Gate in X6; nothing significant enough happened in X7 for X8 to possibly ignore (Axel aside, but I'm indifferent to him).

Even the 3D gameplay in X7 wasn't terrible. But the stories? After X3, they just gave up on explaining the returns of Sigma, which the first three did very well. And why keep introducing characters we're never going to see again? I liked Gate. I liked Dynamo. USE THEM!!!

I always liked Agile. The X-hunters were the shit. Random.

But you're right, X8 was much fun, and gorgeous to look at.

I remember when I was applying to Princeton they wanted an essay about something I wish I could know but don't. I wrote about how I wanted to know what happened to the original Mega Man and how Capcom never really explained the link between the old series and X. I still have that question but maybe Mega Man 9 will help. Though I doubt it. It seems they're more concerned about drawing out the plot than tying it up.

The only 3D Mega Man games are Mega Man Legends/Legends 2. They're pretty far removed from the other series and supposedly happen like 1,000,000 years after the original series. Mega Man X7 had 3D parts too.

Wow, a NEW 8 bit megaman game. That news gave me a boner, thank you. I pray it does well. We could see the rebirth of the NES age. Super Mario Bros. 4...

I never cared for any of the non-"regular" Megaman/Rockman games.

Just 1-8, and Rockman & Forte. This is good news.

That game really pissed me off. By the time I reach to the last boss, I was low on health. Grrrr...=/.

I love how for years everyone was like "We want a Mega Man X where the last boss is NOT Sigma!" Then when Mega Man X8 comes around and people see the new last boss everyone is like "...I want Sigma back..." tongue
