I think the Xbox version is worth renting atleast. I didn't buy it since I blew through the game in six hours.

It's a great game. The Neo Geo version has a lot of slow down, the Xbox version doesn't.

In the Xbox version, the music is more clear than the PC version and the Neo Geo version, there is no loading time needed, and it's only $40! But the game forces you to master the level, when you run out of lives and continue, you go back to the beggining of the level. I suggest play easy mode a few times without dying, when you do that, you may be ready for Normal mode. But it's a great game

Metal Slug 3 is also coming out for PS2 in September(i think) and the 4th and 5thn Metal Slug will come out for Xbox & PS2 in January

I'm surprised they aren't releasing 1 2 and X. 4 isn't that good 5 is better.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen 1,2,X,and 3, in one pack.

If you played it a lot in the arcade/rom/neo geo home system, then you aren't missing much. Just the above mentioned speed, and sound quality fixes.

But there is a lot of secrets and jokes that make the game fun. So don't blast through the game and think you beat it. you may have missed some fun areas.

Well, there is a PC version of MEtal Slug 1, 2, X, and 3 inside 1 disc. It's called: Metal Slug Collector's Edition. It's Korean but i got through installing the program and the games are exactly like the arcade versions.You can order it at Playasia.com
