Holy shit, this is great. I am now going to buy one and mod it. This is a cheap media hub!

I saw the price for X-box was $198 Canadian in Wal-Mart today. If it drops from that here, I really might get one too M4C.

if u use xbox live and you mod your xbox when microsoft scans your stuff they might ban u from xboxlive, i think thats how it goes..

my ancient 2 year old xbox is still in the repair shop. i stil dont regret waiting tho. ive had some good times with that old bugger.

No. There is built in measures within Xbox Live every time you connect for it to check for moded Xboxs, and mod chips. If it detected the system was moded the serial number for that xbox is block perminantly from using the service. You can't get on trying to use a moded xbox the servie will deny it. And as far as I know there isn't any way around it because it not only looks to see if there is a mod chip but it also checks neccisary hard drive files that operate the system.

As long as your mod chip's off when you're logging onto Live and your hard drive is stock, you'll be fine.

I agree with foachon. I got a modded xbox with on/off switch, it is working perfectly fine. Even you get online accidently with modchip on and get banned, there are places where you can purchase a serial number and update your xbox with that one and still be able to use it with xbox live.

i knew i should wait longer, i recently got myself an xbox and return of castle wolfenstein tides of war on the 19th. dammit oh well still happy with my purchase and looking forward to getting ninja gaiden this thurs or friday.

I don't care if an Xbox is 50 bucks, I still won't buy it. I dont care for any of their console exclusive games, I hate the controller, I can just get all the good games on my PS2, graphics aren't all that important to me.

I agree it is his opinion but I still think he does sound like a ps2 fanboy based on his statement "I don't care if an Xbox is 50 bucks, I still won't buy it. Actually I was thinking of buying an Xbox/PS2 so that I can play MK:D.I have a cousin with a PS2 and a good freind with an Xbox.I was going to get PS2 because it has good online games but since the price drop I'm thinking of getting Xbox.I'm not sure what I should get.
