I really love Streets of Rage and one of the key factors I've always enjoyed is the abundance of quantity and quality. Comic book style, exaggerated street fighting action, oozing with character at every corner. Developing the series into 3D isn't necessarily a bad idea, but it seems to me like this is one of those brands that would do well to just invest in the retro angle.
If I could have anything in a Streets of Rage 4, it would be the same escalation of quality seen in the first three games, delivered with top notch, HD artwork and sprites. The glory of the past with the advantages of the present. I'd probably like the same of Shinobi, just on the Sega note.
I like the fighter thinking, though. It'd be great to see this stuff revived and successfully consolidated. Sega Fighters with the full, serious package.

Heh, Streets of Rage 3D later turned into Fighting Force, which looked even better than the demo they showed on that site for it.
