Now since I have an open road and I see all my friends doing something with their life, I need to make a decision on what I'm gonna do. I have better chance of going to school than getting a job. Education is everything. Someone tell me some pointers on how college is like because I'll head to college if it will help me in the long run because I don't want to be like *cough*my brother and sister*cough*. HELP ME BROTHERS AND SISTERS of MKO.

People will recommend a major that has more promise of employment, but speaking personally, I would not have made it through college had I not been passionate for the subject matter. Pick a degree you like. You'll do better.
Beyond that, the best I advice I can give anyone going to college is to show up to class. The vast majority of my friends who failed out of college didn't do so because of poor performance. They just didn't go to class. It's kind of rare that people fail out based on ability alone (unless you go to a really difficult school, but that wasn't my situation). It also helps to participate in the lectures. Familiarity breeds sympathy when it comes to professors issuing grades (refer to last parenthetical for exceptions).
Good luck.

Thanks! And mojo, I'm 17 going to do Running Start through my program which allows running start even with a GED which I have.
Take notes, bro. Most class tests have questions that come directly from the lectures.Just take complete notes and show up to class. It is really that simple. If there are not really good lectures, then read the assigned textbook. Do all the work. Sounds stupid, but I pass classes with high grades like that.

Thanks B-man. I have the basic idea. I just need the determination to get this done. I really want to do something with my life and not just waste it being some burger flipper and live with my mom.

Coming from a current college student, there are so many things you 're gonna learn in college and not just what you're majoring in. I have learned so much about myself and have had to be pretty much an adult and take care of myself while I've been here. In all honesty, I was scared of starting college, but a lot of other people were too and that's ok. It's also ok if you don't know what you want to major in, heck I didn't even know until late sophomore year. Don't be pressured with having to find what you're good at and what you like. Just know that college is more than booze and parties, you get to experience a freedom that you will love, but you have to control that freedom and not let it get in the way of school. Trust me, my first semester of college was a disaster, but I quickly learned. And that's the beauty of it, you'll learn things about yourself all while getting a degree.
But I don't want to force you to go to college and say that's the right and only choice. Some people don't want to go and thats ok. I know people who live really great lives and make a decent amount of money and they didn't go. I know people who waited to go college until years after and thats ok. I've even pondered if college is worth it and still ponder from time to time. It's your choice in the end. Good Luck!

As useful as college is, you have to keep in mind that it's bloody expensive. It has its uses and can lead to a lot of great paths, but because there are so many options, you need to focus on one first before jumping in.
Everyone thinks that everything should be done right away, but the truth is you need to do everything at your own pace, especially since once you finish your program, there's a high possibility that you'll go into debt, and might not get a job right away.
If you don't know what you want to do in college yet, rather than dive right in and be undeclared for a few years, consider working for a few months/one year, get some information on the different programs and which univiersities offer them, then go straight for the books.
