I'm currently a student at a community college and it is a requirment for me to take two foreign language courses. I feel I'm going to have to get some kind of computer program to help me practice and learn Spanish. I hear Rosetta Stone is a popular piece of software but it's pretty pricey. Is there a way for me to get a student discount on this sort of software? Are there any other good foreign language programs? Thanks!

I'm sure there is. But learning by Rosetta stone is not a good way to actually learn a language anymore than learning by guide/phrase books is. You won't learn structure or tenses. It's just a visual book. Conjugation will be lost on you. In the mean time, you'll have spent hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on a visual phrase book. Which, if you're just visiting and want to know where the toilet is, is fine. On the other hand, if you want a prayer to pass a test, you're going to be screwed no matter the language.
