No, but there was music in the fifties and that's all rap needs to rip off.

van halens cover of roy orbisons pretty women is good.
so is jimi hendix cover of bob dylans all along the watch tower and like a rolling stone (still not as good as the orignal.)
guns and roses cover of bob dylans knocking on heavans door was alright.
tom petty and the heartbreakers cover of i think its the thunderbirds song something in the air was good.

all good cover songs.

Buy any of P-Diddy's songs. You can hear him remaster some classics, and you can hear him destroy a few classics...

He's not that bad tho..

Well this isn't exactly a cover, but a lyrical resurrectionof sorts: the song "Another Day, Another Vendetta". by Hatebreed contains lyrics from the title track of Sick of it All song "Just Look Around". As the liner notes to the Hatebreed CD containing this song say in reference to these lyrics, they are as true and meaningful today, if not more so, as when the SOIA song was written in '92. I advise you to check them out.

Aerosmith's "Dream On" in Eminem's "Sing for the Moment" and "Theme of Silent Hill" and "Theme of Laura" (not so old) in Akira Yamanoke(?)'s "Your Rain", "I Want Love", "Hometown", and "Waiting For You." Just a SH thing, I guess. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Fatality.

Yes that one is original. About 90% of all rap uses sampled music, talk about talent.
