Lately I've been hearing alot about Plastic Surgery on TV.I was thinking why do people waste the money to do this?I can see if you were in a serious accident that messed up your face. But if your someone who looked nice before I find that wrong.Take Pamela Anderson for example I never found her attractive but I looked at some of her old photos when she was just starting she looked alot better than she does now.
When she got Breast Implants it seemed like she started to lose her looks.I've seen this with alot of other celebs too.Janet Jackson is probably the main one that looks ugly now.Janet looked decent a few years ago. Then she got implants and a Nose Job.She looks alot like Michael Jackson now. What is your take on Plastic Surgery?

I have mixed feelings on it. After seeing some of the shows on television, you can really tell the difference in people's looks and personalities. Your exterior shell has a lot to do with your interior feelings, this cannot be denied. However, when it gets to the point of trying to look a certain way because that is what your entire outlook on life depends on, then I believe it has gone too far. People should be content with who they are, and then consider aesthetic improvements.

Yea, the majority of people that get it done look uglier than they did before they got surgery. And Michael Jacko got too much, his nose looks fake now.

Agreed,It goes to far when men want to be women too.I stopped saying "that girl is hot".Because I was flipping channels and Jerry Springer's show was on and I said "She looks nice."Then she said "I have a Penis."I felt like I just got Owned.I only say that when I know the person now.
All it really does is prove how shallow of a person you can be by reinforcing superficiality. I can't stand people who are fake.
It's a reflection on the kind of personality they have, meaning, they only care about how they look and how others look at them. There's nothing "real" about it.

I personally tend to have a negative feeling about plastic surgery. I'm not saying I think it's morally wrong, but I don't think it's usually a good idea. Like M4C said, it's better to accept who you are rather than improve your looks through surgery. Shows like "The Swan" seem to be have the message, "if you're not beautiful, you're nothing." I know it's not as blatant as that, and again as M4C said, physical beauty will be reflected in personality and self-esteem, but I think the competition aspect of the show puts it in very poor taste.
True, people who use it to improve thier self-esteem do it for the wrong reasons.
However, i don't think it's wrong when, say, two people have been married for years and after having several children, some of the mother's features look a bit worn out (eg: constant baggy eyes, excess skin around thir stomach, etc.) and she wants to get a nip-and-tuck to get rid of it, it's understandable, because she would've gone through a lot to raise her children and its only fair if she wants to restore her looks a little. This is just in my opinion, though.
