For those of you who don't know, Primal Rage was a 2D arcade fighter released in 1994 that pitted various prehistoric God-beasts such as Tyrannosaurus rexes and giant apes who were vying for domination of a post-apocalyptic Earth.
It is frequently considered to be somewhat of a rip-off of MK, in that it's main selling point was also it's high impact violence and finishers. The game itself wasn't terrible, but did not really break any new ground either. The lore in the game itself was reasonable, and was further expanded upon in novels.
Following it's initial release, rumours abounded regarding a fabled sequel - Primal Rage 2. After years of developmental hell however, Atari decided to can it, and for almost a decade, almost no information surfaced about this lost relic, save for a few hints at what features it would include, such as the dino beasts having human avatars this time around.
There has been a surge of information rising about PR2 within the last year, with people busy trying to break the encryption of recovered ROMs of alpha and beta versions of the unfinished game, although nobody had advanced beyond the character select screen.
Just a few days ago however, an arcade venue in Illinois, America, announced that they had acquired a fully functional beta version of PR2. And thus, we now have the first truly definitive footage of the rumoured sequel in action! Check it out via this youtube link if you're at all interested:
