FF 11 is the only game i know of that uses it at the moment,and i dont think it will be used to replace memory cards anytime soon either,until other developers start to use it for what ever purpose they require it for sony wont release it as a seperate thing it wouldn't be profitable to them.

Sony also hinted at E3 that there considering alternatives to the PS2 hard drive. The fact is that Sony had no other choice but to rush it out becuase they couldn't let one of there biggest franchises sit idle for a US release while they sit with their thumbs up there asses trying to think of something else, because of the piracy issuses related to a hard drive. The HD also shipped with stripped out features. I guess there is suppoed to an MP3 ripper, and slide show feature that was left out because Sony supposedly wasn't happy with stage the program's developement was at. Sony also hasn't officially said what pfeatures was shipped with the HD.
In my opinion I think it is a really stupid move by Sony becuase ever since GTA:Vice City came out just about every game has had terible load times. I'm actually getting sick of them. It just shows how stale the PS2 hardware is getting. Also with considering that the PS2 probably has another year and 1/2 of shelf life left at the minimium, and the games that are going to be coming out for the PS2 (Metal Gear Solid 3, GTA: SA, and Gran Turismo 4) that will definetly require the HD, Sony is stupid for not trying to get it into every posible home that they can.
