Question about trading in games at GameStop and EB
Do you just walk in there with a bag with all the games you dont want anymore and ask for them to be traded in for money and they do it right away..
or is there paperwork you gotta fill out at the store to turn them in?
Im thinkin about trading in like 7 or 8 of my games for money for upcoming games like MKD,GTA:SA,Madden 05,and Jak 3
Thanks in advance

not much paperwork, just sign a little thing at the end. MAny gamestops give only store credit, but the ones in my area give cash, so consider that

Yeah i just walk in with a bag they realize its games you wanna trade so you hand it to them. Walk around and look around the store a bit then they tell you how much they'll give you in store credit then if you buy anything right then and there you have to sign a little receipt or something.
I would check, first, at how much you might be able to sell them on EBAY. You don't get much for them, I'm afraid. I was so stupid; I traded in a game called "Ehrgeiz" for about a $1.50, nearly new, but it was for the PSX, so I didn't think much of it. Well, it goes on EBAY for about $40-80 dollars used, disc only, etc. Needless to say, they wouldn't trade me back. Many other games were like that. I'm not saying to not do it, but check first and see where you can make your profit.

Ehrgeiz was a great game. I liked the guy that had a rocket launcher for a leg (can't remember his name.)
Anyway, for trading in about seven or eight games you would probably only get $15 in credit at EBGames... They kind of rip you off. If you're not trading in atleast twenty to thirty games, you're getting ripped. I don't know about GameStop though.

I still don't get what the hell the store credit is good for.

Yeah it's really easy. The only problem I ever ran into with trading in games was that sometimes the Gamestop has a slow day and they can't give out cash and only offer credit. But I ended up going to the EB Gameworld on the other end of town, and got cash for 'em anyway.
All you really need to trade in the games are
1. The game (duh)
2. The case with the book.
3. They have to be in resonable condition
Stores will NOT take loose games (no case) and sometimes won't take anything older than PS1 games, sometimes even PS2. The reason being is that they are very backed up with games from NES, SNES, Saga, PSX, N64, Dreamcast and early launch games from the new consoles that they can't afford the room to stock more really old games.
