It's been a few years since I've last given into the pleasure of my almost twenty year old obsession with Mortal Kombat. As a consequence I've not been to any of the forums in a while. But now I'm letting myself fall back into it; letting it inspire my artwork; and having fun with it again. I thought I'd just offer a fresh introduction to who I am.
I'll be thirty in July; I hail from Philadelphia, PA. I've been a fan, as I said above, for almost twenty-years. And during most of those years I've done a lot of MK themed artwork, was once made fun of it school for 'studying' the game, make it a point to read up on the history and the mythology of the series, and so on. There's a kind of nostalgia quality to it, but I was really excited for the most recent MK in 2011 that really paid a lot of tribute to us klassic fans. The ability to listen to the original arena music was awesome, as the music of the earlier games has stuck with me for years.
There's really not much to go on about. I hope to find discussion and like-minds here, and I'll make my presence known with comments and maybe even some new fanart submissions. I do a lot of post-apocalyptic Philadelphia digital work, and I've done a few that show what I think the city would look like if Shao Kahn merged it with Outworld. I'll post some of those, and I'll also post the MKII select screen that I painted on small panels. But, yeah, I intend on becoming an active member of the community.
So - Hi!
