Rebuilding My Childhood.
Hey folks!
Over the last couple months I've been acquiring television programs that were a part of my childhood. So far I've managed:
All of -
Aladdin the Animated Series
Batman the Animated Series (Including New Batman adventures)
Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers
Darkwing Duck
Ducktales
Gargoyles
Goof Troop
Gummi Bears
The Mighty Ducks - What can I say, I've got a soft spot for this show.
Mystery Science Theater 3000
Spiderman the Animated Series
Superman the Animated Series
Talespin
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
X-Men the Animated Series
Timon and Pumbaa
The Little Mermaid the Animated Series - What? Don't judge!
The New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh.
Incomplete-
Bonkers - Seasons 1 and 2. If anyone has any news on Bonkers Seasons 3 and 4, I'd appreciate it.
Little Bear - I don't believe I have it in its entirety, but I still need to take stock and see what is missing.
Within reach -
The Busy World of Richard Scarry - They've got the complete collection on Amazon, just haven't bought it yet.
Now, I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand finding a few more. Two, I think, may be lost but the third must be somewhere.
Shining Time Station - This one, I think, is lost. PBS isn't releasing any DVDs and rarely released VHS copies of the episodes. It's a pain that I WANT to give PBS money, but they wont share a show they haven't aired in 10 years, but keep making spinoffs of!
Theodore the Tugboat - Pretty much the same. The VHS copies have become rare, and expensive. There are some DVDS of single episodes for sale in a Halifax gift shop, but I'm not up for a Canadian excursion. Also Cochrane Entertainment has ceased to exist.
Rupert the Bear: This one MUST be out there somewhere, and not the crappy re-tooled American version. The GOOD version. There must be a DVD collection that's available somewhere in the U.K. I'd settle for VHS even.
So, if any of you have any info on these last 3, I'd greatly appreciate it. Also, if you see familiarity in what I've collected and what you watched, and you think some things are missing, please post some suggestions. My memory may be lagging on some great shows, and you could give me a hand.

Kinda surprised there aren't a bunch of Rupert boxsets on Amazon UK. Didn't see anything. Thought that would've been a shoo-in.

So I'm noticing that most of your collection is the Disney Afternoon stuff from the early to mid 90's. Which is fine, those were great shows.

I totally need to stop procrastinate and do the same. In particular I want to rewatch Darkwing Duck and Duck Tales.
Maybe I'll rewatch original TMNT cartoon, though I have already watched it in its entirety in 2010 as well as the 2000-s series.

Did it make you realize how bad the original TMNT show was? Because that's the effect it had on me. It might why I prefer the newer Turtles series, at least the first 2003 series and the new one on Nickelodeon.

I still very much enjoy the original because those are the Turtles to me.

Depending on how you look at it. As a serious show - it's an obviously a failure. As a childish comedy with funny and memorable characters - it's perfect.
Of course Seasons 4-6 are weaker than the rest, but even those have couple interesting episodes. Though seasons 8-10 are the weakest, because of creators attempt to retool the show into grimdark generic action cartoon with boring villains and half-baked arcs.
New 2003-2009 series is vastly superrior, as far as story goes. I haven't watched Nick's TMNT so far, except for a couple of episodes. I guess, it's a good chilidsh comedy, but nothing interesting like 2K3 show.

I can see where you would think the new TMNT is just a good childish story, but I do suggest watching at least the entire first season. Yes, it doesn't get as dark as the 2003 TMNT, but it's still very well written it has great character moments.
